Oh mighty Claratin...

I have never asked for your help or services before but I find myself in great need. I wish to be able to breathe through my nose. I wish to no longer feel as though I am suffocating. I admit to myself that your skills are quite expensive but that is no matter as long as you remove the horrible desire to claw my eyes from my face. I have long been a devote of Benadryl but you can win me over if you surmount these difficulties and do not make me feel as though I am flying amongst the clouds, or leave me unable to finish a coherent sentence.

Please, oh great Claratin, please clear my sinuses and allow me to function in these pollen filled days of early spring.

My opinion (shared by at least one medical doctor) is that Claritin is crap. I am among the around a quarter of people for whom it does nothing, and one has to take it for up to five days to see results even if one's in the other three quarters. I'm sticking with overdoses of the Benadryl with added speed.

I admit I didn't actually try propitiatory prayer, though.

So far, I'm not getting too much. I am a little better but it isn't anything amazing. I just hate the effect Benadryl has on my ability to concentrate - aka I can't think in a straight line.

Claritin is slightly better than Benadryl or Sudafed because it doesn't create the intense grumpies/sleepies in me, but I swear by Allegra. Even if it's prescription-only, it's worth going to the doctor to get the prescription. It's like a sinus miracle in tablet form.

Right now I'm kind of avoiding doctors. I just got through the hell of catching up on dental work. I can really only handle one at a time. I figure I'll be ready for doctor stress after I come back from vacation.
