The roller coaster ride of work... Wheeeeee!

Crazy stuff.

I know how to fix that...

Which one are you playing? I played some of the first one at [livejournal.com profile] fraxl's almost a year ago, but i've now got the second one with the expansion pack (i think?) floating around my various machines.

Maybe you can explain to me about the frustration I have preordering game books. First it takes forever for them to switch the status on them when they finally ship, then if I have preordered my order gets lost in limbo. I find I either have to cancel my preorder and order again, or just cancel and drive down to my friendly neighborhood game store and get it there.

Erm, I'm not trying to stress you out or anything! I just want folks to treat my hobby like it was, say, the latest Danielle Steel book coming out.

It's because all gaming book companies are special orders. We order gaming books on demand as we get the demand. So, it goes like this (this is what I do at work even...)

You place the order with us.
A day or two later, depending on all sorts of issues, we place the order with FillInTheBlank Gaming Company.
It takes them up to a week to get back to us with the information on whether or not they have anymore.
If they have more, they ship them to us, taking upwards of a month to get the inventory to us. When we get them we use that to fill the orders as we got them, in the order we got them.
If they don't have any more, we send you an e-mail saying we couldn't get it for you.

And that's assuming that someone hasn't paid someone some where and it doesn't get held up there, or even worse but more likely, that we never get the shipment from which ever game company. Don't get me started on some of the issues we've had with fulfillment with these people.

Special orders are a really hit and miss sort of thing, though we're always working on fixing that.

Bless you
