There must have been sme sort of strange space time effect hppening around my bus this morning. I left the house at around 7:10. I got to work around 8:45. I blame the man who seemed to be acting out portions of Days of Our Lives (sans cameo apperances by Satan, of course) on the cellphone sitting in the back of the bus. The conversation went a little like this:

"But there were holes in my pants. I told you if you were going to buy that detergent you couldn't put it directly on... No, wait. You had to put it in first. I told you that. It's not...."

*Long Silence*

"Look, I didn't storm out of the apartment. We were having a disagreement, becuase I couldn't wear the pants with holes in them, and I told you I was late for work. I left because I was late for work not because.... We weren't fighting when I left. I wasn't the one who called me on my cell phone after I had left to turn it into an argument, now was I?"

*More Silence*

"I did not. I never once said that to you this morning. Look, you're getting hysterical and... I'm .... I was going to be late for work. Don't even try to blame me. I was going to be late for work, I didn't want another pair of pants ruined and I didn't want to have a fight... I. Left. The. A.Par.T.Ment. To. Go. To. Work. I wasn't mad. NO. I wasn't mad then...."

Extend this over almost all of my apparently hour and 20 minute bus ride and you have an idea of why I'm blaming this man for my bus ride taking that long. I can conceive of no other explaination.

I was also reading Illium. It's an amazingly good book. The parts in the Trojan War are very graphic. More than once this morning I had to shiver with the very, very graphic depictions. Homer would have been quite proud. Now, I just need to remember from my lovely sci-fi reading previous what buckycarbon is supposed to be. One of those terms I know was explained to me in a sci-fi book somewhere... but I can't remember which one.

I suspect 'buckycarbon' refers to buckyballs - 60-atom spheres of carbon.

Thank you! That makes much more sense now.
