Entertainment things.
Jan. 29th, 2004 11:24 amThe casting rumors around Superman are frightening. Just frightening. Didn't I say I was going to stop reading these things? Yeesh.
The Flash and the Starman TV shows seem to be on an indefinate holding pattern at the moment. At the moment they both look a little too risky. (Of course that has nothing to do with the fact that they've mangled the previous ones. None at all.)
Ananova reports that thousands of teenagers are bidding for a lead role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire after producers revealed they want a real Bulgarian to play the part of Victor Krum.
Quentin Tarantino will return on Alias as former SD-6 agent McKenas Cole in "After Six," airing on February 15. Vivica A. Fox is also set to guest star in the episode as Rogue Security Systems Designer Toni Cummings.
Scarlett Johansson (The Perfect Score) will star in The Black Dahlia, opposite Josh Hartnett and Mark Wahlberg for director Brian De Palma. In the fictional account of the notorious 1947 murder, Johansson plays Kay, a doppelganger for the title character, and the object of affection for two police officers (Hartnett and Wahlberg) investigating the brutal murder of Hollywood starlet Elizabeth Short.
Filming begins in Tokyo later this month on The Grudge, a new production based on the hit Japanese horror franchise Ju-On, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr, KaDee Strickland, Clea DuVall, William Mapother, and Bill Pullman. It is produced by Sam Rami and Rob Tapert.
Here is a report on the TV movie they're doing of Salem's Lot. It actually sounds pretty good.
There is a rumor that the WB is filming a pilot for a Global Frequency TV show. It is an interesting comic book. I don't know how it would turn out on TV.
Mark Millar has been hired to write "a big-name superhero movie. An established character you all know and love." Current good bets are Iron Man or Captain America.
The trailer for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind looks great. It looks like the sort of thing... well... It looks great. Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst and Fro...Elijah Woods.
Here is an interview with Chrisma Carpenter. Interesting stuff.

Date: 2004-01-29 03:08 pm (UTC)When I first saw that show, and the fastest man alive ate an entire box of raisin bran with a gallon on milke poured on it in a flash, then shrugged and said:
"What? It's the only way to keep it from getting soggy."
...I was in superhero show heaven.
