Tidus and Yuna do hve some great moments. He's a little slow but most main Final Fantasy characters must run away from the plot for about half the game.

Tidus isn't that bad. I mean he is the Star player of the Zanarkin Abes and he does end up getting the High Summoner that brings the Calm to Spira. And you can't be all that bad when in FF X-2 the player finds out that you have/had an evil identical twin type of guy. Plus have you seen Van? The main guy Char for FF XII?? Now he's pretty damn girlly lookin...

No PS2 limits the scope of what I am looking at in terms of games.

Aeris rules. When she died in the game there were people who sweared (and still do) there was a way to play the game so she didn't die. Extreme fan loyalty. "Maybe if you push the right button...."

He's a little whiny but what main FF person isn't? Half Human half Lunarian. And has a better name then Blutz, who's the main guy in V, though if you change Blutz into a draggon he looks just like Kain the ultamate badass and the first char whom I can think of in FF who is really messed up lol.
