(I've written two pages so far. I'll probably post it later.)

From Variety - Oscar-winning actor Michael Caine has agreed to play the role of Bruce Wayne's trusted butler Alfred in Warner Bros.' new Batman movie.

There are rumors that they are tring to get the semi retired Daniel Day-Lewis to play Ra's Al Ghul. I could get behind that.

X2 comes out on DVD today and I'll be getting it. Brian Singer has stated that the "You should have killed me when you had the chance." line will be vary prophetic for any future X-men movies. As it should be. The producer is really campainging for Beast for the third movie.

There is a great article in Newsweek about Return of the King. Apparently they made an outtakes reel for Orlando Bloom on his last day that would make many, many slash fic writers happy people.

There is another Alexander movie in the works. (That makes three.) And a movie about the Persian emperor Cyrus. (Both very interesting people in very different ways.)

The word is the Spider-Man 2 trailer will be infront of Return of the King. From the descriptions of it, I'm going to love it. Lots.

The Thunderbirds trailer is up. If anyone wants the addy for it, let me know.

The debate over screeners tapes has turned ugly - as in lawsuits. Variety reports that a coalition of independent filmmakers have just filed a lawsuit in New York seeking a court order to force the MPAA to lift the ban in time to impact this year's awards season - thus allowing individual distributors to determine when and in what manner to distribute promotional screeners.

There is a collector's edition Dark Crystal. It's available on our site for $35. It looks really nice. This one slipped by me.

From Variety: "In his first rock 'n' roll picture project since "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," composer Richard Hartley has enlisted to write the music for this black comedy about an '80s-style rock band that comes back from the dead..."

Kids WB has saiud that a decision on the fate of X-men Evolution will be made by mid December.

Dammit. Every time I buy something on DVD, they come out with a special edition. Every. Time.

Isn't that the way of things? Even when I buy special editions there are other special editions....

Ehn.

It really doesn't look that different than the last edition. It's not some different director's cut, just some different fluff extra stuff. Nice, but when I buy a DVD I'm generally there for the movie, not the extras. Though commentaries can be fun... none here though.

I'm interested in seeing Henson's original treatment for the movie.

Better keep it! Warner made enough mistakes during the reign of the A'ol's...

Screeners...

Been watching this develop for two years in Variety. It's gonna get uglier and uglier until the studios give up and roll the DVD the instant a feature suffers a BO death.

Yeah. This screeners thing is going crazy. I need to read up more on it, I think.

There was a huge story about it on NPR this morning. Talking about the (possible) cancellation of other award ceremonies (eg: SAG, Golden Globe) over this, also because the MPAAS Awards (Oscars) is going to be held earlier this year.

It's the big boys pushing this. Obviously.

True, true.

You're a hard person to buy for, Ms. Lehto.

How can I be a hard person to buy for when I have like 500 items on my wishlist?

Oh. on that topic. I completely have David's presents. Not wrapped yet but I have them.

I know what I'm getting Leigh. And you... well, I have ideas but I don't know if you'll have them or not or buy them for yourself....

Well, give me some items that are off limits (you can choose a variety) and I'll make sure to not buy them for myself. Also, send the list to Leigh to cahoots with her. ;-)
