So in Max's game we're fast forwarding three years.

My character is going from 15 to 18.

My character at 18 scares the heck out me. I'll have to take the next week to get used to her at 18 in my head. I need to do some thinking about that. I don't know if it makes sense to anyone else but she feels darker in my head - more defined and more willing to do whatever she needs to do.

And at 15 she was cute. At 18? No, cute isn't the right word at all. I have a pretty good mental picture of her in my head. I haven't had a visual of a character this clear in quite some time.

And she'll have a 10th level cohort. And 16 followers. Oi.

Ok, I have to share this.

So I've been studying for about 14-16 hours a day since school started with some of my weekends off. Recently, I've been consumed by outlining, taking practice tests, and still trying to get the normal 14-16 hour daily workload done as well. Some of my compatriots are really freaking out over this, I'm doing better than most I think. So anyway, I took a break to read what my friends were doing and I read this. I laughed quite a bit.

The reasons are as follows:

1) When I'm looking at a $40k turn on the roulette wheel coming up in 2 weeks, seeing someone complaining about a D&D game is comic. Especially complaining about having to try to get in the right mindset for it.
2) Admitting publicly to that at all is pretty comical as well.

Kat, you've got a pretty sweet life. Your main concerns, according to LJ, are mostly what movies are coming out and how to get into character for the latest D&D adventure. Count yourself very lucky.

And you're also comic relief for we unlucky few who are dancing across the line between glory and suicide. Thanks. :)

I'm not complaining about the game at all. I'm more amused by it than anything else.

And my main concerns are not at all what you see on my LJ. What I put on my LJ is random stuff I'm thinking about at that very moment. From time to time I put what I'm thinking deeply about up here.

It's a rarity these days.

The important stuff I tend to keep to myself or talk to people about in person. I'm a fairly private person when it comes down to it. If you ask me a question I'll answer it but I really don't want to parade all of that stuff in front of over a hundred people - a lot of who are reading this for that movie stuff and not for my personal trials.

If you don't want to see this stuff, don't read it. If you want to know what's going on deep inside my head, ask.

Heh. Sweet. I was hoping that might happen. That means that Lysi's about 26, and way more stable than she might otherwise be.

Man, I wish I could play her again. Just for a bit, though. I'm getting used to playing nice people for a change.

Yeah. It would be great to have you around again. *snugs* It's cool, though. Maybe you can send one of us a letter ICly?

I might. I just might.

Could you ask max to 'give me a bare-bones "what's-happening-to-Lysi" email? Otherwise I'll just make up random grandiose stuff that probably won't fit in with the storyline. Feel free to threaten him with that. :)

Max? E-mail?

I'll try but he's not really an e-mail person.

He actually e-mailed me back once about giving me a Lysi update, but never followed up on it.

Yeah. He's not one for the e-mail, really. I'll see what I can do.

There was something I was going to ask you... and I can't remember what it is...

I don't know if it will ever come back at this rate. Maybe when I see you.

i had wanted to ask you about the medalliion that Lysi had... did she take it with her?

and can you fill me in on what you remember about that castle that she wanted to go visit?

Oh, heck yeah she took the medallion. If she didn't, it's likely the castle would keeeel her. Or something. That's what she figures anyway. As for what she knew about the castle...

Hrm. It's Kallon's Keep, the place where he retired from the world to fight Faron. IIRC, no one's claimed the keep since. Kallon himself was killed by Lithera, so it's possible that Sarliss carted away a lot of the magical goodies. (And just as possible that Litera burned it all, or just left it and wouldn't let Sarliss touch it.) It's somewhere in the middle of Conalbrough Forest (Lili's old home.) There's probably a fairly good indication of where it is in the Ballad of Worlds.

Lysi was definitely thinking along the lines of the medallion as being a key of some sort that would allow her to enter and claim the keep unharmed. Even better if it means she can get access to whatever's left of Kallon's magical research, to jump-start her own. And even if it's completely empty, there's still the fact that it's a keep that's been set up for magical research, which means she can study and experiment without worryig about the clergy or anything else untoward happening to her.
