I'm going to do this now, in the hopes of not having distract me the rest of the day. Here's hoping.

The first and biggest news. The Original Trilogy (Star Wars) is coming out on DVD in September of next year. People asked me why I didn't post this yesterday. Well, there are a few reasons. One was, I was busy. Two was that I was thinking. There is nothing that says they'll be the Special Editions or the Original Editions or something else that Star Wars George puts together between now and then. There are hints there might be both. At the end of the new X-box game you get to see the Ewok Celebration complete with the Yub-Nub song - restored to pristine DVD quality. So, there is hope for it.

The trailers for Troy and Shrek 2 are up, the first at Yahoo and the second at Apple.

There has been a small flood of actors talking about X3. Ian McKellan says they'll do it and he'll play Magneto as long as he can and they want him. James Marsben says he wants to do it and has been interviewing hardcore comic book geeks about what they want to see on screen. He also says there is no script but a treatment. Shawn Ashmore says he can't wait - he wants to do it now, though it sounds like they'll be filming by next fall.

The first Clone Wars cartoon is this evening on Cartoon Network at 8!!!

There are a lot of stills coming out for Azkaban and there should be a trailer soon. The people who have seen it says it looks better than the first two. Of course with the maturing of the stories... That has to help.

Comfort and Joy looks like it will be a great episode of Justice League. Since it's only half an hour, they're going to follow it up with "Holiday Knights", one of my favorite Batman episodes.

There is stuff I'me hearing about the Underworld sequel and... It just doesn't sound all that great.

Orlando Bloom, Bill Paxton and Gabriel Byrne will star in Haven of two shady businessmen who flee to the Cayman Islands to avoid federal prosecution - igniting a chain reaction that leads a British native to commit a crime that changes the country. Orlando willl also co-produce.

Brian Cox has signed on to reprise his role from "The Bourne Identity" in the sequel.

Where is my VanHelsing trailer? C'mon guys.

Got to see a Troy trailer before Matrix 3: Haven't We Done This Before?.

Good trailer.

I am so looking forward to that one.

Same with Last Samurai.

They both look really good. I've been telling people about The Last Samurai for quite some time now. I'm glad the trailer is starting to swing people.

I first mentioned Last Samurai in my LJ ... hmm ... close to a year and a half ago (Just after Tom Cruise was signed to it).

When the first trailer was in theatres (It was a summer action film -- X2?), the audience I was in watching it laughed all through the trailer.

No laughing this time.

... and the more I see of it, the more excited I'm getting about this one.

Yeah. I was talking about it then too. I remember people making fun of the trailer and I wanted to yell at them. I had faith. It really does look cool.

December will be a movie filled month.

Kate Beckinsale in pleather AGAIN?

THey may get my money for it, but I want to sit next to Sean again and crack bad jokes through it.

Yeah...The UNDERWORLD sequel...Why? The movie wasn't all that good...but that seems to be the way it is, lately: Sequels to movies that don't deserve sequels...PITCH BLACK, UNDERWORLD, FAST AND THE FURIOUS, XXX...Um...Anything with Vin Diesel.

Unnecessary sequels and remakes. That's what we have to look forward to.

ALSO: Thought you might like this...This is me in my Hellboy getup for Halloween.

Clone Wars is something that I WOULD'VE loved, 20 years ago. Now... I feel like I SHOULD want to see it, to be a Star Wars completist, but I really, REALLY find it hard to care at all. It's hard to apply to this cartoon my love for the first three films, when my total disdain, if not outright hatred, of the last two films is so much fresher.

Good ol' Bill Paxton! My hometown boy. Always good to see him in something new.

BTW - James Marstens (Marsters?) -- Spike from Buffy and Angel -- is Jim Butcher's first choice to play Harry Dresden in the TV series based on "The Dresden Chronicles" - it's a sorta supernatural dectective series of novels. He (James Marstens) has already read two of them onto CD as Audiobooks, and has expressed interest in the project.

Well, they want to do a prequel and a sequel but the details I'm hearing about for the sequel are uninspiring.

I think the Riddick movies will at least be interesting. The movie didn't need a sequel but the character deserved a shot.

Nice costume!

They're a series of three minute shorts that I will feel stupid about missing if I miss them. I will give Gennedy Tartakovsky my time and attention. He makes good things.

Marsters

Interesting. That would be very interesting. I can see him pulling that off.

He'd be a great Harry Dresden.

Mind you, him without that accent and hair would be a bit jarring, at first ...

I might even get Cable again for the TV series if it ends up materializing.

As I said. Uninspiring. Though apparently the sequel would have a fifteen minute flashback in the beginign like the third Indy film with a Braveheart like battle between the vampires and the werewolves.

....

I'm not making this up and yes they guy did use almost exactly those words.

Yes, this "trilogy" SO deserves a good mocking.

The scary thing is, I know somebody that loved it so much she started writing a RPG for it. Sony still isn't returning her calls...
