This is truly frightening. Is Seattle truly a breeding ground for these psychos or is this found in all major cities? (Ignoring the fact that Seattle still isn't a /big/ city.)

They aren't limited to Seattle but almost all of them are from or lived in the area.

Unfortunately, the Pacific Northwest does seem to have a greater percentage of serial killers than other parts of the world. Dunno what it is.

Yet another reason never to move to Eastern Washington. That place is a pit, I tell ya. Especially Spokane.

I blame Gonzaga. Too many oversexed and guilt tripped catholic school boys. Oh yeah, and its proximity to the Neo Nazi's of Northern Idaho.

Did you ever play Fallout? Spokane looks just like any city in Fallout, except there aren't any of the cool Brotherhood of Steel guys walking around. Just tons of zombies and mutants.

It's the end-of-the-road syndrome. Seattle/Washington is pretty much as far away from the rest of the country as you can get without leaving the continental US. We have rather a lot more than our fair share of psychos up here in Alaska, too, for the same reasons. We've been in the top 5 for rapes per capita for the last 25 years, and are frequently #1. Go us.

it's our weather. Okay bad joke I know, but as someone who has studied and done some reports on serial killings, most of the ones that were mentioned in that list wouldn't be considered serial killers or murders. As the FBI has certain classifications as to what counts and does not count as a serial murderer or murders. Anything below 5, that shows no recurring patterns either in the method of killing, placement or arrangment of bodies, or the victims being choosen. Classifies it as just murder. What's even weirder is that Gary Ridgeway use to live around my area to the point that I knew his son and had friends parents who knew who we was and hung out with him.
