I read my first review of The Last Samurai. The reviewer wasn't a fan of the director or Tom Cruise but came away from the film slightly awed. I really want to see this movie. I really do. December 5th.

It is rumored that Sam Rami is being courted for a third Spider-Man film. From what I've hear about the second film it would be a tragedy for him not to go where he's going. I would really love to see it. There is also rumors, still, always, eternally, of a fourth Evil Dead movie. Of course, if he gets enough momentum behind him Spider-Man movies he could do whatever he wanted. And if they make Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, Evil Dead 4 would then be able to be somewhat mainstream because New Line would have brough him into the public view.... Anyway, just thinking.

I've seen Constantine pictures. Keanu looks like John Constantine. That's really all I can say about it yet. All of the pictures I've seen have him smoking, near alcohol bottles or standing somewhere windy with the trenchcoat whipping about. Oh, yeah, Lisa Gerrard is working on the soundtrack. So far it is very, very dark music.

20th Century Fox has hired Mark Bomback to write Die Hard 4, which centers on the continuing adventures of rogue hero John McClane. Pending approval of the script, Bruce Willis would return in the role and produce through his Cheyenne Productions.

There are more rumors of Good Omens getting off of the ground, Terry Gilliam using Brothers Grimm as a launching board to get funding and all of that.

The Punisher pictures are looking better and better - more Punisher like, which is a very, very good thing. Thomas Jane is looking grittier some how, almost Christopher Lambert - Highlander gritty if that makes any sense to anyone but me.

I have to mention that the Teen Titans this week was so fricking cool. Oh my God was it awesome.

Wolverine: The End is somehting I'll have to pick up. It looks really interesting.

"Hell Bound," a new episode of Angel, is scheduled to air on The WB on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Which Teen Titans was it? Robin as Slade's apprentice? And am I supposed to know from the comics who Slade is, or is this a totally new character? Because they're doing way too much with him, if it's not leading to a huge payoff.

I don't think I'd like Freddy, Jason, and Ash (unless Raimi directed, which I'm sure he wouldn't), but I still hold out hope for an Evil Dead 4. At least it seems more likely than a new Romero zombie flick (even though they keep throwing out new, proposed titles for it -- the newest is Land of the Dead, apparently).

It was the second part of the Robin as Slade's apprentice. It was really good. He is a character fromt he comic books, I was just a little slow to pick up on it because they're calling him Slade (his real name) and not Deathstroke. He's different in the cartoon than in the comics. At least as far as I remember.

I have no idea if I would like Freddy vs Jason vs Ash but I think I'd go see it anyway. The entire thing just really makes my mind spin so, I think I would have to try to see it.

Interesting on the "Who is Slade?" bit. I'd wondered if they'd made that guy up or not.

I loved the ep as well. I was really cofused as to why he kept threaening the Titans on one hand and telling Robin to forget about them on the other, though. Right now, they're his hold on Robin. Why try to convince him otherwise; he'll just go for the throat.

"I already have a father." Beautiful moment, beautiful homage. All over that.

I love stories where people are forced to go evil.

I loved that bit with the bats. I also loved that the big fight was on top of a Wayne Enterprises building. I just kept thinking about how pissed off Bruce was going to be.

Oh, yas. Though I'm certain Bruce knew something; like you said, the fight was on top of his building. If nothing else, Oracle ought to have told him. Love to be a fly on the wall while Tim tries to explain what he was doing to either of them, eh?

Heh. Yeah. That would have been fun. And while I'm pretty sure it is Tim, I still appreciate the whole Robin/Starfire angle. It is very, very sweet.

Well, from what you're telling me, it sounds quite a bit different from Deathstroke as I've seen him in the comics.

Considering he's one of the only people Changeling would be willing to kill without even blinking.

(Deathstroke convinced Tara, Changeling's girlfriend, to betray the Titans, and when she started having second thoughts, he killed her.)

Actually, that sounds a bit like him. I'm not a big Titans knowledge person but that really sounds like him as portrayed for the most part. I just didn't think that he was a big behind the scene sort of guy like he had been in the cartoon. I thought he was pretty straightforward.
