I've seen pictures of the new Catwoman costume for Halle Berry.

Oh dear god. What have we done to deserve this? No. Really.

*twitch*

So. Bad.

I warned you.

And on another note: Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will unveil The Matrix Revolutions, the final explosive chapter in the blockbuster "Matrix" trilogy, at the exact same moment in time in every major city around the world on November 5. This unprecedented distribution scenario will make the highly anticipated film available to fans simultaneously at 6 a.m. in Los Angeles, 9 a.m. in New York, 2 p.m. in London, 5 p.m. in Moscow, 11 p.m. in Tokyo and at corresponding times in over 50 additional countries worldwide.

Casting Halle Berry by itself as Catwomen, is a pretty sad thing on it's own. Now they are pushing the suck envelope even more with that horrendous suit/outfit of hers.

Sean Young wanted the role. And she could have done SUCH a good Catwoman.

This will be so bad. So, so bad.

On a purely aesthetic viewpoint, while she is indeed insanely attractive, that mask/headpiece is STUPID AS HELL. She looks like a friggin conehead.

I was okay with her as Catwoman. Eartha Kitt was a great Catwoman.

I don't like any part of the outfit at all. None of it. It's horrible.

Ugly, ugly, ugly.

And I am not going to see Revolutions at 6 in the bloody morning. For that, I will wait until I can see it at a reasonable time, preferably on an IMAX screen.

ok, the mask could use work, but Halle Berry = Hawt. I'm glad they totally skimped her out.

Also, she makes me think of Eartha Kitt, one of the 2 original catwoman actresses from the really cheesy 70's show.

It could be a lot worse than what you led me to believe.

I think the costume is totally crap, to be honest. I can't imagine anyone doing anything in that costume. The mask is horrible.

It just isn't appealing to me in anyway and I typically think Halle Berry is attractive.

I loved Eartha Kitt as Catwoman. Her and Julie Newmar were the only good parts of that show.

That plus the official synopsis make me not want to see this movie at all:
"Catwoman" is a feature film based on characters created by DC Comics. In this new adventure Patience Price, a mild mannered graphic artist, is murdered in order to keep her silent about an accidental discovery she made. An ancient myth is played out, when an Egyptian Mao cat, indebted to Patience for saving her it's own life, breathes life back into the young woman. Patience is reborn with an independent attitude, carefree behavior and the heightened senses of a cat. Now she must investigate the circumstances behind her murder and learn to accept both parts of herself.

Ok, the story sounds like it sucks huge donkey dick.

Still think she's hot, still think the costume is ok.

It looks like she's already been seriously thrashed by something with big claws and very selective aim, and that she made the mask herself (and not in the Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman I-made-this-vinyl-catsuit-myself way).

I will admit that Halle Berry + Hero Movie concept makes me cringe anyway, however, since I really didn't like her as Storm. So I may be biased.

More coverage. Must have more coverage. Catwoman does not run around in her bra.

I kinda like the pants, but I don't think they can be made to work for the character. For going to a dance club, okay. Slap some glitter on her, lose the mask, and she'd look great.

I think that's part of my problem. Catwoman = sexy, slinky. Catwoman does not = skin.

I don't know what bothers me more, the hideously ugly Catwoman costume or the knowledge that six to eight months (nono, make that weeks after Catwoman is released, we'll have to listen to Halle Berry bitch and moan about how the African-American actress today has been forced to become nothing but a sex symbol and how this is Hollywood's fault, and definitely not her own, especially considering that her last major role before hokitty here was as a Bond girl.

*deep, cleansing breath*

Actually I kind of like it

I still think Angela Basset would have made a MUCH better Storm.

Then again, I also think Basset should have been the first black woman to win Best Leading Acress in the Oscars for What's Love Got To Do With It? I still think she's a much better actress than Berry (and more attractive to boot).

That is the worst thing ever. Seriously. Worse than bat-nipples. I will list my woes.

1. The toes sticking out of high heels. Catwoman in high heels is tradition, if still kinda silly, so the heels are okay. But Catwoman does a lot of puissant ass-kicking with those delicate feet. DAINTY BREAKABLE TOES STICKING OUT IS NONO.

2. If she's going to wear a...god, a fucking HEADDRESS like that, she needs long hair to balance out the lines. Catwoman has always had very good, very strokable hair--she's a CAT WOMAN. So where the hell is it?

3. The pants, which make her look as though something has already kicked her ass. Nyet. Catwoman has too much pride for that. No beat-to-shit clothes for Catwoman, and especially nothing that advertises she, personally, has been beat to shit.

4. Smooth, lickable skin = good. Smooth, lickable skin exposed to rope burns and knife-fights and bruises from Batman's boots? Not so good. See #3 re: pride. See also: SHE'S A PRAGMATIC BITCH-QUEEN WHO LIKES TO LOOK SEXY AND COVER HER ASS AT THE SAME TIME.

5. That outfit looks as though it cost fifty bucks plus three-fifty for scissors. And that's a generous estimate. Given how much money she rakes in and the lifestyle she leads, Catwoman should never appear in public in an outfit that costs less than seven hundred dollars.

Rrrah. I love Cats. That's wrong. That whole getup just urinates in my pudding. It's ugly and I hate it.

Feel better.

Remember the almost-Catwoman of Deitrich.

That almost makes up for this atrocity.

I didn't think she was a bad choice for Catwomen because of her race. Eartha Kitt is in a league of her own, and Halle Berry isn't even close to being what she was. Not to mention Halle, isn't someone who can carry a movie all by herself. She's horrible when she's in the starring role, and is just barely believable when she's at her best. To me it was just a really bad choice as I think there are better actresses who could have taken the role.

Its really really really really bad. What would have been so bad with a vinyl catsuit, thigh-high boots, and a simple mask? Argh.

I certainly wouldn't say that. I mean, Eartha Kitt might have been the greatest Catwoman ever. Though Julie Newmar is up there. Halle can carry a movie but she needs to have other good actors around her. Monster's Ball was great. I just don't think she's really an action star.

have you seen a picture of her most recent incarnation? she wears a full mask, with goggles, a tight black suit that covers *everything, and has very sensible stompin' boots on. makes MUCH more sense than the heels.

I'm just going to pretend that this is some OTHER Catwoman. this is not Selena.
