Entertainment things...
Sep. 29th, 2003 11:43 amI already mentioned the Return of the King trailer. Go watch it. Seriously. It's just great.
Marvel and the creator of Captain America have settled their disputes and things are all clear for a Captain America movie. Expect to see something about a writer or director or casting in the next month or so.
The casting of Sharkslayer is out. Go and read it. It's full of some really great talent.
Wonder Woman has gotten a new writer. This one is less impressive than the ones before her. It's one of the scribes for Bird of Prey. She also wrote Scream 3. Maybe Brian and I /should/ write that Wonder Woman screenplay. It's got to be better than the stuff I've seen.
From Variety: Veteran actor Lance Henriksen has become the first actor cast in Alien vs. Predator, Fox's upcoming matchup between two cult characters. Henriksen played Bishop in the previous "Alien" films. (No. He's not playing Bishop in any way.)
Rumors are that Batman: Intimidation Game has set a release date of July 4, 2005. This would be very interesting as Indy 4 has the same date set. I would be in movie heaven, but likely someone will move.
X3-movie says: "We've just recieved word, that 20th Century Fox is looking to sign a two-picture deal w/ X2 actor, Hugh Jackman. Although few of X2's actors are already signed to return, Hugh is the only original cast member, that is being offered a new deal, for two films. Though the exact price is unknown, we hear that the full price could equal to around $20 million. The two-picture deal would include X3, and a possible WOLVERINE spin-off film. Or, should Wolverine not appear in X3, then it would go towards two WOLVERINE films...or vice versa!"
I've seen some massive Spider-Man 2 spoilers. *grins* It sounds like the movie will be lots and lots of fun.
Wow. Batman and Orson Welles fans, go take a look at the Batman movie that almost was. And.. I wish had been.
Catwoman has started filming. The story annoys me. If I go to see it, it will be thinking of it as a seperate entity from the DC Catwoman entirely.
The new issue of Fables is supposedly the best one yet and a completely amazing piece of writing.
In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Kiwi actor Karl Urban (best known as Eomer in "The Lord of the Rings" movies) had some interesting things to say about the tone of this film as compared to the genre at large: "It's about time we reclaimed science fiction and made it dark. It's gotten a little candy on us lately, but we are going to flip that"

(for those who don't know, "candyflipping" is a term that people use for tripping and then dropping ecstasy when you're peaking so that will kick in a few hours later... or maybe it's the other way round, I never can remember.)
