I woke up this morning and felt as though I were cheating on my lover, sleep. I was being rude and inconsiderate because I was leaving in the middle of some of the best sleep I've had in a long, long time. Work calls and I cannot just leave, as much as I would love to be able to have stayed there in those loving arms, I had to get up and face the sun, with its harsh glare, seeming stern and disapproving of me as I walk towards the bus stop.

The bus, of course, was pulling to the bus stop as I turned the corner, looking down the sloping road towards Aurora, the sunlight telling me by its presence above the horizon that, yes, I was running late. Typically I run towards the bus, pushing myself to reach it before it leaves but even if I could run faster than Carl Lewis, I wouldn't make this bus.

.... Sigh.

Went the bus finally arrived, I found that it was too warm and while seats were plentiful and I could take one to myself, there were strage sorts scattered about. Luckily I had a book for a shield, not much being into conversations on busses early in the morning. Often I wonder, and today was not an exception, why it is that typically people do not sit next to me. There is much conjuecture that I can draw but it is one of those mysteries to which I will never know the answer.

Much like why everyone lost in Seattle, or so it seems, finds me to ask directions of. Yes, I do know how to get where they are going but it seems strange that out of all of the people on any particular street filled with people going about their way, they would pick me. It seems almost the opposite of the empty bus seat phenomenon.

Folks probably ask you for directions because you seem both competent and safe.

Thank you, my dear.

How are you doing?

Pretty darn good, actually :) I woke up at a reasonable hour, and even the really suck things going on (lack of job and money for a start) aren't getting me down too much.

*dances* Good for you. I'm glad to hear it.

It's good when the bad things don't get you down. How go the sewing projects and such?

Slowly. I'm getting on top of keeping my household together, then hitting the sewing more.

How're you doing?

Not too bad. Getting some spare money into my accounts which help pay for things like my dental bills. I'm always envious of people who can do crafty things. I never seem to be able to focus on them long enough to finish them.

Part of why I like my little crafty sewing projects is that I can do a little at a time when I have a few ;minutes. Of course, I started with really simple project years ago, so I can do more complicated stuff in fits and starts now.

I always focus on them intensely for a few hours/days/weeks and then walk away and never pick them up again. It's why ceramics and pottery were good hobbies for me.

That's really common. It helps to have folks to work with. Of course, it's best to know what works for you and stick with it :)

It just generally frustrates me, though. Not enough to pick them up again and finish them but still frustrating.

That's understandable. Small projects you can carry with you and work on, like, on the bus? Lanyards are good for that.

And now I'm going to go get ready for a birthday party :) My friend Luke turned 3 this week.
