Well, it was in Hokkaido and if there was a safer place for that to be, it would be in the north.

You should go, just for a weekend, if you can afford it!

I'm sure you'd have a blast!

I mean, to New Orleans-- going all the way to Japan just for a weekend is a little... well, it'd be cool, I know that, but I know you'd wanna stay longer! ;-) I'm sure a little longer than a weekend would be ideal for New Orleans, too.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that if you can afford it, you should go-- sneak away for a weekend, and have a blast! You know those "power naps?" You could take a power vacation!

Or, you could take advantage of that good price to Japan, and go later!

Wow, I'm the devil's advocate!

Well, New Orleans would be a week at least. That town is amazing.

I want to go to Japan, too. I just need to think about it some more.

And send me a post card ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] lithera is the one who prompted the rules change.

It used to be everyone started on the list by default, and I would remove people over the course of the year.

Last year, I actually had to send out a card. Because she slipped under the radar, somehow.

Next year, it's a contest. Only One Friend Gets A Card ... It Could Be You!

To be perfectly honest with you, it took me the longest time to decide whether to drum up a last-minute excuse to remove you or whether I should break down and send the damn card.

However, it did prompt a change in policy. So I guess long-term, it was a good thing.

Tortured, perhaps. But that's all the fault of my friends.

Nice? *snicker*

I only appear to be interesting because you're viewing me through a self-selected filter.

Nevertheless, if you feel the need to subject yourself to my journal, the door has been thrown open.

I can't seem to locate actual flights with that price when I look on Travelocity, though I can locate ones for $588.

Dammit, it was $800 for my trip 3 weeks ago.

I want to go back, though... if they were still offering ticket prices like that in a few months, it's going to be horribly tempting. Do you need a translator? ;)

I would need someone who's Japanese is much better than mine. My Japanese can get me to the train station and then home and not too much more than that.

So sad that I lived there for three years.

I'll keep it in mind, seriously, though. It wouldn't bee for a few months at best anyway.

That's a damn fine price for a direct flight to Tokyo from Seattle. Last time I went to Japan I went for 2 weeks and spent approximately $2000 for the whole trip; ryokan fees, flight, JR pass, expenses. Of course, if you like to buy stuff (which I tried pretty hard to limit myself on last time), it'll cost more. Mind you, I stayed in Japanese-style inns rather than a western hotel. The Japanese-style inns can run something like $40/day or so, depending on the complexity of the accomodations.

Here is an idea.

Why not take the money and go somewhere you have never been before?

Just a thought.
From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
I've thought about that but at the moment, I'd rather go back to places I've been and go do the things I didn't do there the first time.

Japan, while I did live there, would be an entirely different experience this time.

And there was so much in New Orleans I didn't do.
From: [identity profile] sordidatus.livejournal.com
True.

It was just a thought.

I have gone to places that I have been before while on leave. I would like to go back to NO agian, and I would liek to go to San Fran and Monterey agian.

But I think going to be Europe would be cool.
