Dream On... Entertainment News.
Sep. 24th, 2003 09:52 amI keep hearing that I should make my own website for this. The thing is, if I take it off of my journal and turn it into its own website, it would become something like a job. And it would be a job I didn't get paid for and would likely need help with, as my web skills are far from l33t. And to be honest, I don't want to make yet another half-assed punky looking movie site.
Still. I am thinking about it. Let me know what you think?
There are a ton of new trailers out there. (Elf, Jersey Girl, The new Matrix ads on TV, the new season of Smallville. If you want to see any, let me know.) The Return of the King trailer (2 and a half minutes) will be with Secondhand Lions this Friday and on-line on Monday. You know, that seems like a sound stratgey to keep second week receipts up, put good trailers in front.
Here is a gorgeous picture for The Last Samurai. And a different one.
Fron Variety: Kevin Burns and Jon Jashni's Synthesis Entertainment is teaming with director John Woo and scribe Doug Petrie on a new TV take of Lost in Space that's generating heated interest from several networks.
Also from Variety: Universal Pictures and Imagine chairman Brian Grazer acquired the rights to turn the long-running CBS drama Magnum, P.I. into a feature film.
Superman-V.com says the Oklahoma Film Commision who claim the WB are currently going through hundreds of location shots of around 10 locations for Smallville. Dino Lalli, the Head of The Oklahoma Film Commision, says that if they get the job the WB will be shooting in April/May 2004. The idea is to catch the harvest season and sunny weather.
The WB has announced that "Phoenix" will be the new episode of Smallville scheduled to air on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Everyone is back for Ocean's 12 according to Clooney. Look for it to appear Christmas of 2004.
Ridley Scott is doing historical movies. He wants to do a movie set during the Crusades "around 1130, 1136". Then he wants to do a sequel to Gladiator about the character's son, apparently. He just likes Rome.
Will Ferrell will voice the Man in the Yellow Hat for the animated Curious George.
There are Goonies 2 rumors again. Apparently there has even been film scouting in Astoria.
Clone Wars cartoon! There are spoilers here, so look at your discretion. The promo for the series is here.

Date: 2003-09-24 10:42 am (UTC)One of the hidden advantages of your LJ setup is that it's painless. I'll be reading my friends list and - lo - there's news about the Buffy cartoon being back on the table or something. If I had to actively seek out a web site, why would I choose lithera's g33k news over aintitcool?

Date: 2003-09-24 12:51 pm (UTC)I'd think about who you would want the web site to be for.
Of course, I've often toyed with the idea of setting of a book review website, but the at least I know that that's because I want to let random strangers know my opinions. (More than I potentially can do on LJ)

Date: 2003-09-24 02:59 pm (UTC)I would want some one who was good with this LJ layout stuff to help.
That is a good idea, though.
