So I'm reading a Stephen Baxter book Sean gave me. I can feel my brain sliding around in my head trying to start thinking in the right mind set to grasp everything. On one hand I feel as though things are being over-explained and then something just slides right by me and I have to read it a few more times to get it. Math trees and Sephiroth.

My Animatrix shirt glows in the dark. I must remember this for future reference.

I must get more done. Of course, this means first I have to write another list of the things I need to do or I'll never get any of them done since they won't be organized and I'll start one project only to realize there are these other ones I need to do to and that results in me starting but not finishing several zillion things.

Yes, I do know how my mind works, thank you.

And now I'm addicted to Ace of Wands. Just what I needed, more webcomics to read. Yeesh. *grins*

Do you mean Queen of Wands?

Math is the ultimate in abstract philosophy. You can have any possible set of axioms, with all the inherent logical consequences A mathematical system doesn't even have to relate back to the real world! Each unique math is defined by a different set of axioms. Of course, since Godel has proven that it takes an infinite number of axioms to completely define mathematics, we get to look at all the permutations of an infinite set.

For me, that story was fascinating because the mechanisms of evolution were used as part of a quest for Truth. Really, it's just another permutation on the idea that our entire existance might have an underlying Meaning in the quest for Ultimate Truth.

Yeah. Sorry. Queen of Wands. Mind drifting elsewhere when typing.

Hrm. Math. I keep thinking that if I could have gotten to the super flexible math that could be anything I would have done better. I kept running into not knowing why I was doing what I was doing and only learning the why when I started using it in the next level of equations... Like building a pyramid with strangely shaped blocks and learning later that the block has to be that shape for the next floor to look right.
