As I walked to the bus stop this morning a crow with a white feather on each wing watched me from a wire.

I bought a new desk last night. Yeah me! Yeah desk! Desk is heavy. I am glad I will be staying in this house for at least a year. That desk is not something I want to try to move any time soon. Putting it together will be interesting. I should do that this weekend.

I've officially reached the 'we should go kill drow' stage in Max's game. I recognize this as a phase I've reached in every one of Max's games. I think it's a phase a lot of epic story lines go through. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli go through the killing orcs stage. So, sure they were following Merry and Pippin but that wasn't the stress relief, the need to let go and not care about the storyline so much for a little bit. While we're not saving the world, we're coming up against a ton of epic things we can't do /anything/ about.

And I have a theory.

That it's a demon? A dancing demon?

Actually... That's not too far off.

It could be bunnies.

Mmmmm. It could be. Damn bunnies. Why do they need such good eyesight anyway?

I think the eyesight is a cover. Really, they're collecting carrots and sharpening then into knives. One day they'll come for us all, and it will be known as the Night of the Long Carrots.

Oooooh. Scary. They'd have to be really, really strong to do much damage with a carrot.

Even a sharp one.

You think those back legs aren't strong enough to propel a sharpened carrot through muscle and bone? Oh, those bunnies can kill.

Epic storylines are neat, but you still have to have the PCs effective on some level or else they lose interest.

This stage lasts for awhile, depending on all sorts of things. Eventually it resolves into, "Ooooh! Let's do that!"

From: [identity profile] fireballof3.livejournal.com
Or "let's do this almost impossible thing as we don't have the resources availible to us to effectivly do what we think we need to.

From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
Yeah. That one happens too. Sometimes it resolves in self imposed character death.

Usually does, actually, especially in Max's games.

"Here's an impossible choice."

"I nobly sacrifice myself for the cause"

"That's nice and all, but it doesn't help much."

"fuck. My character shoulda stayed back with the cart."

*laughs* That's a little more than it is but... sometimes.

I don't think I've played in a climax of one of his games where most of the people lived...

I have. More often than most of the people die.

I guess I was playing in the wrong games.

Did you still want the futon frame?

Date: 2003-07-24 08:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
Yeah. I haven't been able to get over there to get it. This weekend good for you?

What is your addy? I think I remember where you are, but I'm not sure.

I work 12-5 both Saturday and Sunday but outside of that I am good.

*nods* I can work around that. Probably after 5 on Saturday.

Tim is offering his vehicle and labor on Saturday afternoon. Perhaps we can use that to pick up the futon?

From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
Sure. That'll work for me.

Going to kill Drow sounds good.

Unfortunately, getting to the underdark may be tricky from our current position...

Uh-oh...

Odin is watching you.

What's your theory?

Re: Uh-oh...

From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
I have no idea why Odin would be watching me, honestly.

The theory is about the plot of a game I'm in.

However, I often have theories about a great number of things. Maybe I'll have a more entertaining and general one tomorrow.

Because he's chosen you as a Valkrie, to fight as part of his army in the Great and Final War.
