The weekend... It was long.

litheraSo, it's time for the short, short version, apparently, since the long version will take far, far too long.
Thursday: Woke up, wandered around a bit, generally enjoyed having the day off. Went to see T3 with Sean and Cody. (I liked it. It was excellent. It was more exciting than Matrix Revolutions - to me at least.) Eventually Sean and I got packed and headed towards WesterCon. Got a membership from Marci and while waiting in line for my badge, say Andy. Yeah! I could tell already that it was likely to be a slow but enjoyable Con. Lots of people willing to talk to anyone about just about anyone and that was cool. We put all of our things into the room and then went to the dealer's room, where I discovered my reason for being at the Con on Thursday. I found this gorgeous black satin and brocade top. It has a Mandarin collar and looks a lot like what Chun-Li wears and it fit me off the rack. It love it.
Later that evening was the dance, which was not well attentded. WesterCon is more of a room party Con than a dance Con but being Thursday, there weren't really any. So, I had some to drink since the bartender looked bored. The alcohol made all of my muscles tight, so I walked around and ended up watching some Eva in the anime room. Then I went back to the dance and sat up with DJ Andy, finding more stuff for him to play.
Friday: There was a movie pannel in the morning and it is getting to the point where I knew just about everything that he said, though there were some nice bits. I'll go into that stuff later. Then I tried to go give blood. I really won't talk about that here since I know some of you are easily squicked by such things. I need to drink more liquids, apparently. The BloodHag concert was lots and lots of mostly unintelligable screaming, but in a fun way. Got a few books thrown at my head and all was good there.
Went to room parties on Friday and thusly finding the reason for me being there on Friday. I found Joel. It's been years and years since I've seen him. It was great to seen how well he's grown up. We chatted and chatted for at least and hour. I found out he doesn't live too far away from me and we chatted about Buffy and Angel and all sorts of other things. I also saw Julz at the dance and this was certainly a 'good thing'. We chatted and planned and plotted some.
Saturday: This was more hanging out with people. Mostly with Wolf. I got to figure out through where and how I know Wolf and confirmed that the world is, yes, still a very small place. Went to another movie pannel and saw previews - nothing new there. Though, I did get to see some of the pilot for Eliza Dushku's show. It actually looked interesting, if nothing else. I got the Hulk soundtrack for free, which was my reason for being at the Con for Saturday. (I don't know why but it was just something I did over the weekend. I was having large moments of deja vu that would go on for minutes. I hate it when you have moments that feel like you need to be there and then and .... nothing apparently important happens.)
Later in the day I was attacked by HarleyQuinn and marked with a kiss. Luckily it was just Julz, but I will stand by the idea that Sean needs to be the Mad Hatter and Holly should be the Riddler. Ra's and the Penguin would be the hardest to find people for, though Luke could have fun being the Scarecrow.
Dancing was good as I got to dance with Gahan, something I haven't done in a long, long time. I hung out with Gahan and Andy, which was plenty of fun. Eric was there as well, at the dance and he gave me a can of Coke, which I greatly apprecaited.
Sunday: My favorite pannel of the Con by far was the why are bad guys sexy pannel. We talked a lot about Spike and Valmont. There were mentions of Lex and Faith and... Well, jsut lots and lots of not so nice people. I was generally pleased with the pannel and I actually did think about it a bit more deeply than I had previously.
Sean and I hung out for a bit and then went to see 28 Day Later. Wow. I haven't actually been frightened or horrified by a movie like that in a long time. London without people is truly scary. And the zombies... well, that was something else again. *shivers* The D&D game was good as usual.
Monday: Yesterday was a hang out and be lazy day. I did actually do some things around the house, some cleaning and such. Realize now I should have done some laundry, but I'll live without having done it. Game was great. Of course, my character and Tina's are now kidnapped. Wheeeeeee. This will be fun. It will be interesting to watch the reactions of the other characters, when we finally get there. This game is interesting since it brings out my desire to pick over people's minds for motivations. There are a few characters who I want to pick apart and understand. It's been awhile.
Several great quotes, throughout the night though. Crunch's heiroglyphs are great. Also comments about Fiera's sex life were amusing.
Hawkgirl: That's fast.
The Flash: Yeah, fastest man alive!
Hawkgirl: Which might explain why you can't get a date.
