From [profile] jameel. Wow. This is hard.

1. Your turn on the time machine is a bit odd. You can take any actor from any point in the past and make it so they played any role of your choice. Who do choose, from what time do you choose them, and for what role?

- Huh. That's rough. There are so many actors I would love to borrow for awhile to help bring a little more class back into movies. (At least on screen if not in private lives.) I'm going to fudge a little here, so bare with me. I think Gregory Peck, Spencer Tracy or Clark Gable would be great to bring forward and put into lots of things. I'm actually rather taken by the image of Clark Gable as Tony Stark. (So, I kind of answered the question.)

2. With a typical Hollywood "big budget" and complete creative control, what superhero movie would you make? What would the plot be like?

- Right now I would really, really like to make a Captain America movie. Not the sort that I think will get made but the Captain America movie where he fights for what America should be and could become. With the political situation in this contry right now, I think you could make an excellent movie with many different layers: action, patriotic, politcal. Captain America would be asked to take on some mission that he did not think was appropriate. He would struggle with obeying orders and doing his perceived duty and making a stand for something bigger and more important. It could be really good. (I also thought about a Green Arrow or JLA movie.)

3. When did you start reading comics? Why?

- This one is by far the easiest of these questions. On one of my family's many cross country journies we stopped at a place to eat on the Loop in Chicago. I had just finished reading my book (can't remember what is was) and desperately needed something to read. So, when I saw the issue of Uncanny X-men (280), I thought I would give it a try. When my dad saw it he said I could look through his comics when we got to our grandparent's place. When I read The Cat (First female comic book lead. Greer Grant - later became Tigra) and Batman - I was hooked.

4. Movies, comics, and gaming. If you were somehow forced to give up two of them forever, which one would you keep? Why?

- I would likely have to keep gaming. It would be hard since some of my gaming is comic related, but if I gave up gaming, I'd also be losing friends. I would lose a connection to some friends on-line and an outlet for a lot of things. It comes down to people.

5. How are you?

- Honestly? I'm not too bad. A little tired but not too bad. Things have been some up and down recently but things are shifting towards me having a little more grounding, which is a very good thing.

I don't even have to think The Bone Collector is one of my all time favorite books and they RUINED it. The lead so should have been played by Gabriel Byrne!!!

Interesting. I immediately thought of Gregory Peck too.

If I had a time machine...

I would do something worthwile. I would slap President Lincoln around the oval office untill he signed something to let the Confederacy go.

Not that I like the Confederacy by any means. I just don't think that good people should have died to keep places like Missisippi and Georgia in the United States against their will.

Of course I realize that we are a much better country integrated then with hordes of different independant nation states crowding North America. I realize that the rest of the country and the South need each other. The South needs the rest of the country far more than the rest of the country needs the South. But, still it is fun to think of how things would be different now if Lincoln had just let them go. And I find the idea of places like Georgia and Missisippi being their own little bananna republics like Honduras or Panama very desirable.
