First off it's unrealistic... you could get "meat" but complex muscle tissues and fats that make up a hamburger need an animal that flexes it's mucles.
But the giveaway is there are no hits on google for UltraModAgri (the supposed company) or the head scientist interviewed.
It's from the Weekly World News, which is a tabloid. Yahoo has this annoying way of posting those things as if they're real news, but if you check the URL it's got a 'wwn' in it, and that's pretty much a guarantee that they're pulling your leg. So you can rest easy, or something. :)
Although it's a hoax, such a thing does raise interesting questions. If you were able to splice genes in this manner, which isn't a complete stretch of the imagination, think of the applications. It wouldn't be a far cry from eventually being able to grow organs, or tissues like liver or even nerve tissues custom designed for a particular genetic makeup. You give a sample at birth, and scientists and doctors begin growing the trees that contain all of the liver cells, muscle and nerve tissue you might need. It could even be tailored to your specific genetic makeup. Say doctors identified a genetic marker in you that made you succeptable to a certain type of tissue or organ degeneration, so for a small monthly fee, your parents could pay to have their child's own personal organ grove grown and cared for in the event of catastrophic organ failure or damage as a sort of genetic 401k. Orchards full of beating hearts instead of apples, tree's branches rising and falling with the breath of a hundred lungs all pre-grown for their potential use. Bloodfruit, brain trees, neurofiber shrubbery! Yes! I can see it now! THE FUTURE IS HERE! THE FUTURE I TELL YOU!!!
