It's time for casting rumors!

Justin Timberlake as Jimmy Olsen.

Fox apparently is in deadly serious talks with George Clooney to play Reed Richards. They offered him Nick Fury, but he wanted to play super cool NIck Fury, not the super violent Nick Fury, so... Reed Richards. How would /you/ cast the rest of that movie? You so /need/ Doom.

And now seeing pictures of Diane Kruger, they're almost definately going to the Helen = temptress angle for Troy.

Afer turning blue as Nightcrawler in X2, Alan Cumming is now in early talks to take on a more villainous role in New Line Cinema's Son of the Mask, the second installment of "The Mask" franchise, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Steve Jobs revealed that Finding Nemo will arrive at theaters with a trailer for The Incredibles, the next co-production with Disney that is due in the holiday season of 2004. The last film under the current deal with Disney would be Cars, scheduled for the 2005 holidays. Pixar has ideas for a part three to Toy Story and a sequel to Monsters Inc.

There were tons and tons of sets and storyboarded things that were left out of X2 due to time and money constraints. One of which was the Dnager Room and another one was a mid-air battle between Nightcrawler and Toad.

Sam Kieth's The Maxx returns this August in The Maxx Book One TP, the first in a series of collected editions from Cliffhanger Productions. The Maxx Book One TP is a 144-page Cliffhanger trade paperback suggested for mature readers. It is scheduled to be in stores on Aug. 6 with a cover price of $17.95.

The producer and editor's notes on Teen Titans:
Robin - "Robin's super-power is that he's crazy," Slack said. "He's just got boundless guts. You look at Robin and he's cool. He's ready for anything."

Cyborg - "Cyborg's half-robot. He's our strong guy," Slack said. "He has a hand that converts into a sonic cannon."

Starfire - "Starfire can fly and shoot green starbolts from her hands," Slack said. "She has powers that maybe she doesn't ever realizes are powers."

Raven - "Raven is just plain creepy," Slack said.

Beast Boy - "Beast Boy is a shape-changer who can turn into any animal."

How is Timberlake going to have time to do a movie when he's going to be busy doing commentary for all those sports? Or better yet, who cares? :)

I think....probably....I'd cast John Malkovich.
Or maybe I'd cast Anthony Hopkins.

It hasta be someone with a very commanding voice, that's all I know for sure.

C'mon, it worked for Vader...

Yeah, but I think his voice is a little /too/ distinctive. And Doom is very much an Eastern European.

Does anyone know who has signed for X3 and who is in negotiations? Daniel Cudmore looks like he's looking foreward to it, and I'd be pleased to see a Nightcrawler, Colossus, Rogue, Iceman 'blue team' to balance the Jean, Storm, Cyclops, Wolverine angle. Though that might not be an accurate juxtaposition for spoilery reasons.

I just wish I knew who is on-board and who isn't...

At the moment, it is said that Daniel Cudmore, Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos are all said to be signed up for a third movie. Anna Paquin and Shawn Ashmore have said they'll do a third one if approached.

Everyone else is unknown, though Hugh Jackman says that he'll likely only do one more.

I could see Jackman not wanting to be typecast. But damn! He'll be hard to replace. Really hard. He nailed Wolverine.

You /can/ do X-men stories without Wolverine.

Yeah, but he's generally the most popular character in the comics, and I'd be willing to bet people who have only seen the movies feel the same way. No hollywood exec likes to do a sequel without its "star."

No, see, you just have to make it a serial of things. A long over arching series of things about a group of interchanging characters. It can be done and done well.

Especially if you get other X-men in there. I bet you could now pull people in with Nightcrawler. If you did Gambit right, he would pull people in as well. It can be done, you just have to do it correctly. Kind of like James Bond, but where the team is the focus instead of Bond himself.

I'm not arguing that it can't be done, and done well, just that when you've had two very successful movies, and you take away the character most easily tagged as the "star" or "main" character of the films, every movie exec in the world is going to get nervous. The most reasonable way to do it would be to have Wolverine play a relatively minor role in the next movie, and end it with him leaving (much like the end of X-Men 1, but with less direction). If people have had at least one movie where Wolverine was a peripheral role instead of a primary one, they're more likely to go to another movie where he isn't there at all.

True. Where the plot seems to be going, though, he'd have to be on the edge for a fourth movie. I don't really see anyway for him to be a minor character they way they're doing this.
