Frustration... and the rest of the day.
Jun. 17th, 2001 01:26 amThere are just things that I can't stand for. Some of them are things that I would like to change about myself where as others are things that I see no reason to change about myself. I have habits, that some think are picky and some weird things about me. Like I only eat candy in twos, almost exclusively the same color if they're M&Ms or something like that. Another one is that it bothers me to be late to things. I'm not as bad as Cody is, but it really bothers me to be late. Being late to me is like breaking a promise. Thus I helped get Joe to the Phokus concert on time. Alos, I have a tendancy to have as many contingency plans as I possibly can. If there is something i want to do, I come up with as many ways as I can think of to do it. This doesn't always work. I see no reason to change these traits. If not helpful, they at least aren't harmful.
So.... on another note entirely. The party was good. I got to spend some good time with poepl that I normally don't. I met some cool people and did some cool things. Eliza and I rocked the fire portion of the program and Julz was a supreme mega cooking babe. Jamie got a litle silly. Angel was adorable all day, especially when near an animal. It was good to see Mike and Leigh - Mike had the most understated Hawaiian shirt I've ever seen.
We cleaned up the beach and said goodbye to everyone and made sure Joe got to the gig on time. it was good. I was impressed. I got to see a lot of people and chatted to many of them. Tina - I love you. Thank you for letting me psuedo-vent at you. I've been remarkably happy the past few weeks and I needed to vent if I was going to stay that way. The concert was great. I was really impressed. The fact that they had a better sound board guy (yeah Joe!) had some to do with the better sound, but they were just all in all better. Derby, Andy - It rocked. Honestly. I thought it was great. A few things I'd comment or critique on, but I think you guys are all good enough musicians to already have thought of what I'd say.
I think I'm going to write something. Maybe the words that started in my head this evening will come back. I had the begining of something for a few minutes.
The band after Phokus was pretty amazing. They had great stage presence. It was marvelous. If you get a chance to listen to Radiostar, by all means do so.
I think that's it. I'm worn out. My eyes still sting from the smoke today over the grill. I think I might actually even be a little bit sunburned. Ah. Vitamin D.
