The Trip... Day the Third...
Mar. 31st, 2003 01:42 pmWoke up. I actually got more sleep that night, though I was starting to feel a little panicked about the getting to Italy part of the program. Took a shower, pushing the button for the water with my back, so it would keep coming. While I can take 5 minute Navy showers, it is really difficult with all of my hair.
Went out and headed for the Tower of London. That was generally quite a bit of fun. Lots of history. Holly poked at the ravens and we decided that London would be a good place to start a web comic. Holly also got a nod from the guard in front of where the crown jewels were. That was pretty keen. I think my favorite crown was the Crown of India. How useless is that now?
I checked with the station near the Tower to see if Ic ould catch the train there to Gatwick. No go. After buying a Graham clan pin in the souvenir shop, we went to London Bridge station so I could check about getting a train to Gatwick from there. No go. I am starting to get a little freaked out and annoyed and my feet hurt and I'm just not in the best mood, all in all. I let everyone go wander around Piccadilly while I go to Victoria and start asking them about it.
I figure out how to get to the train on the 24 Night bus obscenely early in the morning to get to the airport early enough for all of the flying all of that. So, after all of that hassle, I met up with everyone at the fountain at Piccadilly and we went to get some food. Then we went to the sports store and the Virgin Megastore. I got shirts for my birthday - Batman and Danger Mouse. (Eeeee!)
We went over the Kyna's and watched some war coverage and ate delicious Indian food. I love the Korma. Yum, yum. It was all really good. At this point, I was starting to feel outright jumpy.
We went home and I stayed up to catch the Nightbus at 3 something or other in the morning. That fun, the bus, the plane and the trip to Italy, I will detail in the next entry about the trip.
