The trip... Day the Second...
Mar. 28th, 2003 02:07 pmSo, I didn't get too much sleep. It was the lack of real pillow and bed not being overly comfy, I think. Ah well. Woke up in the morning and went down for our lovely complimentary breaky. Well, it was toast. Toast and tea. I've had worse breakfasts. Saw that we had started our lovely war in the night. Yeah!
Grumbled a little to myself about being in the same clothes as the day before, but shrugged and decided that we needed to get out into the city. Things would be better if we got up and out and around. So, first stop, the London Eye. This makes twice I've been on it. It is a really great view of the city from the top. 135 meters tall.
Got off of the Eye and went to NamcoLand, where I happily played DDR, Star Wars and then SoulCaliber 2 for free. Video games are my friend and I love them so. I kicked some serious ass on the European mix DDR. It made me happy. Good selection of songs.
Then we went for lunch at fish! I love fish! It is possibly the most entertaining restaurant I've been too in a long time. Just for the fact that everything is in lower cases and has an ! after it. Toilet! Pull! It's great fun and last time it made me think of Holly. Well, this time she was there and it was even better.
We went back to the hostle and they said that the airport had called and our luggage was on its way. Whether this was on its way from Heathrow or Schiphol or any number of other places was unknown. So we hung out and slacked in our beds until it was time to go meet Kyna for dinner and such.
We hung out with Kyna for a bit, had a little munchings and crunchings and then headed out for the pub. The Anchor Tap rules, I'd just like to say. Greatest cider ever, in my humble opinion, to be quite honest. We had quite a bit to drink and enjoyed participating in Quiz Night.
Some highlights of our Quiz Night answers:
What is the largest prison in the UK? - Australia
What to Americans call reindeer? - Reindeer. (Though the answer is apparently caribou.)
What color is Bond street on the Monopoly board - There isn't one for us, though we ended up saying dark blue.
(I'm still surprised that we didn't get our asses kicked for that first one.)
I ended up drinking like 4 and a half pints of cider and being quite pleasantly drunk. I wasn't to the point of tripping over things and was still quite all there mentally. Sean and Holly had the most random conversation I've ever heard on the way home and Kyna was very very ill. Kris was quite amused by all of our drunkeness. I was struck by an intense need for chocolate.
We got back to the hostle and our lovely luggage was there. Yeah! Fresh clothes for sleeping and shampoo and such for showering. It was quite, quite lovely and I was almost entirely sober by the time I lay down to go to sleep.
Here endeth the day two.
