So. My weekend.

Friday was good. I wandered around the house in a sort of daze. I've been doing a bit of that recently. I'm starting to transition from the 'not yet' phase of the vacation to the 'freak out and panic' phase of the vacation. Once I reach cruising altitude on the plane I'll calm down some. Of course I'll get to London in time to start worrying about Italy, but I'll deal with that.

Saturday was lovely. Went down to Tower Records on Queen Anne with Sean to see Evanescence live. They did three songs in an acoustic set. Amy's voice just rolls over you. It was an amazing experience. I haven't had an experience like that in quite some time. I'm glad I went. I went to sleep and slept well, though I do wish I could wake up later than I do.

Sunday was my birthday! Happy Birthday to me! It was a good birthday. I hung out with friends and got a cake that looked like a cat! It was great! I got snuggles from Marci and did some good roleplaying and hung out and... MMMmmmm. Just a good and cozy day. I liked it.

So. Tomorrow I fly out of the country. What's happening today? Yes! That's right! We're preparing for war. Like in the next 3 days sort of preparing for war. Some part of me is glad to be out of the country. It's sort of a tradition now. I was in Japan for Desert Storm.

I live in one of the most dangerous cities in the country according to this data. Yeah!

I'm in an odd place mentally.

That crime survey would be better if they factored in how dangerous the crimes were. There's no way it's less safe to be in Columbus than Baltimore "300+ murders a year" Maryland.
