Can today be over already?
Jun. 3rd, 2001 02:43 pmI've certainly had my excitement for today.
I looked out the window onto my balcony and across the way to the other side of the apartment complex. There I see a kitten pushing open the screen on the window of a fifth floor apartment and start to climb up it and then try to climb the side of the building.
I sat there in shock as the kitten found out that it couldn't climb siding and fell. Fell rather far. Fell rather far onto cement. I yelled at Holly to go to the apartment where the kitten came from and find the owners as I watched for signs of life from the kitten. The kitten got up walked a few paces and then fell down again.
A man came out of his apartment and slowly and gently picked up the kitten, who seemed to just be dazed. She was responsive and had full body motion. He took the kitten into the manager's office. The owner rushed out awhile later and I directed her into the office.
I'm going to have to go over to that apartment tomorrow and see if the kitten is okay. Make sure she's taken to the vet.
That was more than enough for me today. Can I be done?
I really hope the kitten is alright. It looked like one of my cats that I had to give away because we were moving.
Note to self - If living in apartment with kittens make sure all screens are closed tightly and are not easily pry-out-able.
