Feb. 10th, 2003 08:24 amAnd from the files of movies that shouldn't have sequels.... Production Weekly reports that production is scheduled to begin this spring on a sequel to the Paul Verhoeven directed Starship Troopers, based on Robert Heinlein's classic sci-fi novel.
And yes, if you liked Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights... There will be another. Jacki Chan and Owen Wilson are already signed for Shanghai Dawn. Fann Wong is also already signed for it. There are rumors of Egypt possibly for the next one. Jackie Chan is going to be very busy in the next two years.
More Superman actor choices.... I'm still not impressed, but now we're going more obscure. Victor Webster from Mutant X. Woooo.
The trailer for the League of EG is here in Quicktime. It's a little blurry and dark, though.
In 2004 Marvel is looking to release In addition to the Spider-Man sequel, the studio plans to release The Punisher, Namor: The Sub-Mariner and quite possibly either The Fantastic Four or Ghost Rider. Avi Arad is starting to make a wishlist of actors. I'm not going to put them here, but who would you cast as Iron Man? That could be such a great movie. And Jennifer Garner is already waiting for a script for and Elektra movie.
An announcement about the continuation (or not) of X-men Evotlution is expected soon. Though the Magneto maquette they've made is /excellent/.
The BBC has announced the launch of Ghosts of Albion an animated horror/adventure series laced with dark humour. It is created and written by Amber Benson, who plays Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and novelist/comics writer Christopher Golden and directed by Benson. Ghosts of Albion is a 19th Century tale of demons, vampires and, ghosts. On the death of their grandfather, a famed stage magician, a brother and sister discover that not all of the old man's magic was performed on a stage. The siblings find themselves the inheritors of an extraordinary legacy, and must bear the burden and the sorcerous power that makes them the mystical guardians of early 19th century England.
