Well, like he said, they changed some of it. I'm starting to let go some on my comic movies. You can't get everything exactly correctly - some things don't transfer over well for one.
This is the one coming out that I know the least about, so.... I'll let others tell me if it works or not.
We can rent good Superman and Batman movies (okay, and bad ones too). The Wonder Woman TV show is still well remembered.
What has Marvel had up until X-Men? Who here has watched the Captain America movie? Punisher? The mercifully unreleased Fantastic Four? The old Spiderman and Hulk tv series were pretty weak too. The last ten years has had some good cartoons though.
Well, for a long, long time Marvel was trying to get Spider-Man and X-men made. I remember when I first started reading comics they were talking about a Spider-Man movie. That's like 15 years ago. Those other movies didn't have the Marvel logo on them, like these do (something that started subtly with Blade, if it watchers paid attention.)
There were two good Superman movies and two good Batman movies. I'll grant you that, be everything coming out right now is attricious. Warner Bothers idea of "re-imaging" for a 2003-2004 audience is stupid. This isn't re-imaging, this is getting rid of everything important and going from there.
So, yes, I agree with you, but DC could be enjoying to sort of success that Marvel is right now, but Warner Borthers looks like it is going to ruin all of these properties that we could carry with us and be inspired by. (I still love the first Superman movie.) They could be so much more if you actually found directors like Sam Raimi for them.

Anyway... Sorry for the long windedness.
