Yeah. That sounds like the movie I want to go see, really.

Today's things I think should not happen include a Mr. Ed remake. Who comes up with this stuff?

The film rights to Metroid have been bought. That is a game that could actually make a good movie, if they did it right.

Anna Paquin got hit in the head by a water bottle at the Sundance movie festival as a woman went a little nutty about the film showing. (Buffalo Soldiers) She said it was anti-American. *snorts*

Hmmmm. More Batman movie news. The Scarecrow movie is actually starting to gain a little speed. They want Frank Miller to have something to do with it.

Apparently I am easily amused today. Lots of things are making me laugh. Including the synopsis for the JLA in April. April looks like it will be a very good comic book month.

*giggle* I like that summary.

You know, I like Frank Miller. I like that he turned Bats into a true dark hero, THE Dark Hero. He has respect for the Batman franchise.

But this is the man who gave us DK2, the comic with one of the most un-Batman endings ever. And this is the man who said, like, said on NPR, in my hearing, that he thinks Batman should carry a gun.

This does not mean that it would not be good. But it could be more horrible than anything Joel "Nipple Suit" Shumacher ever imagined

That's pretty much how I feel about the entire Frank Miller situation. It could be greater than anything ever before. It could also be worse than anything in history. It's a hard call.

My thought is that Joel didn't realize the full potential of the Batman mythos. He perverted characters, yes, but he perverted them in a way which showed that he didn't have a clue as to what he was doing.

Frank Miller, on the other hand, knows what he is doing. He could keep the outward facades of all the characters and destroy their souls utterly.

Or not.

I'd almost prefer Sam Raimi to do this. Or Peter Jackson. Jackson would be spectaacular.

Hmmmm. See, Marvel is doing comic books movies correctly. They are giving these movies to the directors who have loved this characters and stories since they were kids. That is why Sam Raimi got Spider-Man.

DC needs to not let Warner Brothers screw over their characters. They need to find directors who love these characters and would do what needed to be done to get it right. Then they need to give these directors proper funding.
