litheraYou know when CNN says, "Warning: contents could be disturbing" I should listen to them. I just watched the footage of the collapse of the building at the wedding reception in Jeruselem.
Everyone was dancing and having a good time and then the floor drops like half a foot before it and all of the people on it are all gone. Just gone.
You can hear them screaming. The falling concrete sounds like rushing water.
Damn. I think I'll carry those images and sounds with me for awhile.
If you're jaded and not easily effected or your curious like me, go look. I don't know why I do these things. I don't know why humans do things like this; watching the calamity of disasters and such. It's like watching a car wreck.

Date: 2001-05-25 09:01 pm (UTC)The thing that disturbed me most was the behavior of the survivors immediately after the incident. People crying and wandering around pointlessly.
When a disaster happens, you (1) evacuate the disaster area; (2) notify emergency teams; (3) stay out of the disaster unless you're a trained professional.
What if that floor collapsed more? More could've been hurt. It's just sad that humans act so utterly stupid in the face of disaster.
