litheraSo, I was looking around at movie trailers and found listings of movies for 2002. The ones that are annouced already. Lemme break this down in to categories.
Movies I'm Not Going To See:
Basic Instinct 2
Peter Pan 2
Blair Witch 3
Jumanji 2
Jungle Book 2
Stuart Little 2 - Any one notice a pattern?
Movies I Will See:
Batman: Year one - Written and directed by the guy who did Requiem for a Dream and Pi. Somehow I think there won't be and schloky crap in this one.
Cosmic Banditos - John Cusak. Nuff said.
Matrix 2
Lord of the Rings 2
StarWars 2 - Boba Fett.
Red Dwarf: The Movie
Movies I'll See For Laughs:
Elfquest
SoulCalibur - Yes, as in the game.
Scooby-Doo - Yes, live-action
True Lies 2
Tron 2.0
Movies I Will Have to See (even if they end up sucking):
Fantastic Four
SpiderMan
Men In Black 2

Movies I'd Want To See, But I Don't Think Are Going To Happen:

Interesting side notes:
Sum of All Fears - Another Jack Ryan (Tom Clancy)movie. Who gave Ben Afleck permission to play Jack Ryan? First he's Alec Baldwin and then he's Harrison Ford... Then Ben Afleck? Excuse me?
A movie about Christopher Marlowe is in the works. Looks like Shakespeare won't be alone in movie annals soon.
Tuck Everlasting and The Importance of Being Earnest - Don't know how I feel about these. Good books...
Ulysses - Who decided that Joyce gets to be have a movie? Have they actaully read this book? Oh my god.
On TV there will be a new Knight Rider movie! Ha! I must see it. It's going to be called Super Knight Rider 3000!

On other notes...I don't care about LOTR 2, I want my LOTR 1! Now!
Lessee, none of the stuff on the "Don't want to see" list looks good. Pretty much everything on the "Want to see" list, I want to see. I'll ST X, becvause it's an even-numbered movie, and heck, I've sat through I-IX anyway.
I pray that _Good Omens_ will be made. (Did I mention that I now2 have a copy of _Maskerade_ signed by TPratchett? I do!)
I always wondered why they didn't even ask Gates McFadden to play Mrs. Ryan in _Patriot Games_. She would have been good. But I've lost interest in most Tom Clancy stuff since...oh, whichever book he made Jack Ryan President. That was silly. Almost as silly as thoe _Left Behind_ books.
_Ulysses_ will probably be an art-house flick people go to to show how pretentious they are./ Or it'll have a coherent plot and some idea of time which means that it will bear no resemblance to the book whatsoever.
Right now, I'm waiting for Moulin Rouge, Harry Potter, LOTR, and Cats And Dogs. Oh, and Atlantis looks good.
