Apparently Avi Arad has gone off the deep end selling scripts to people. UPN has bought a script for a Marvel hero tv show. No. Don't get excited. Please.

The hero is Night Thrasher. Who? Night Thrasher. You see, he's this rich guy who skulks around and fights crime and has some neat gadgets. No, no, I'm serious. He was introduced in like 1990 in ... Thor, I think. Anyway, he's a punk and is getting his own TV show. I'm not impressed.

Anyway... Party! I will see people tomorrow. I have no idea when people will start showing up or what. If it is too early, I may not be there, as I may be out getting drinks and food and such good things. I'm hoping to have someone there at all times, in the hopes that no one will have to sit outside.

I thought Night Thrasher was that skateboard guy in that book with Speedball, Nova, Firestar... and somebody else... I can't remember what that book's title was...

New Mutants? I don't think he was. He might have been, though. Best of my knowledge they're two differnet people, though.

I looked it up...

New Warriors and yes he is the skateboard guy...

Cool. I wonder what his first appearance was, since I'm pretty sure I've seen him in something with the Avengers. Though, since he is in New York, it's likely that he has been.

He is all rich and no powers and gadgety and all of that, though. How many heads of multi-million dollar corporations are super-heroes on the side anyway?

And a better question, why did I mix up the New Warriors and the New Mutants?

Look, if you were the rich head of a corporation, and had a crapload of minions doing all the real work, wouldn't YOU direct some of the resources into making yourself a superhero?

Has there ever been a rich-CEO-superhero who's had to deal with his board of directors cutting him off while he wasn't paying attention?

Rich guys...

Maybe. It would be something I'd want to do. The thing is, think about the people who are amazingly rich CEOs? Do you want Bill Gates, Ross Perot or Donald Trump being a superhero?

I think Ross Perot already is. That's how he knows about the aliens.

Also, Donald Trump is more likely to be a supervillain (hence the cultivation of his good image, a la Lex Luthor). Gates probably has a Batcave-like area in his home already, although there have been no reports of his superhero vehicle coming streaking out of Lake Washington - yet.

Steve Jobs, I put money on him being a superhero.

*ponders*

Hmmmmmm. It bears thinking about at least.

I wish they were more effective, though.

We don't know how effective they are. How much worse would the world be if they weren't here? Maybe they're so busy fighting off the alien invasion that they're unable to turn their attention to the earthly evils.

I see so much potential for RPG stories in here...
