And because my day wasn't stupid enough yet....

Speilberg is approaching John Williams to write music... for... Jurrasic Park 4.

The rule of Sequels in Hollywood:

1) Did the Movie Turn A Profit?
If yes, Begin Work Immediately
If no, go to 2.

2) Did the movie eventually become a "cult hit" or "underground classic?"
If yes, Begin Work
If no, go to 3.

3) Can you con Producers into throwing money at the project?
If yes, Begin Work.
If no, go to 4.

4) Can YOU afford to Produce this film alone?
If yes, Begin Work
If no, Give Up.

Not that anyone ever gives up upon answering "no" to question 4, anyhow.

I know that, but that doesn't mean I can't be annoyed about it.

No no no, you have step 4 wrong. It should be 'If No, wait one year and restart at step 1.'

Yeeeeeeeeeees. I hope they're not even bothering to call Michael Crichton and let him know they're making these these days. I'm sure he likes the money and all, but having to wake up in a pool of cheap tequila and fish the bills out of his ass would get pretty degrading after a while.

*nod* You are, as ever, correct, Sir.

I stand corrected.

No. There were NO SEQUELS.

And they stopped making Alien movies at number two.

I swear to God.

Batman movies stopped at two as well.

So did Superman, for that matter.

Highlander stopped at one movie and a really good TV series.

And the series stopped after about three seasons, if I remember correctly.

Something like that, though there are bits later that really were nice in the midst of junk.

Agreed. And it was only ONE series. No spinoffs.

You know, if Jurrasic park 3 had been in 3-d we'd have another jaws on our hands...oh wait what am i saying...we do have another jaws on our hands. *rolls eyes* I hate it when they take a great thing and turn it to something nasty and pathetic. *sigh*

Very true. (Though the lead did go on to do a lovely movie that wasn't at all related.)

The lead?

*blink*

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Brandon Lee die during the filming? It was some sort of big deal ...

From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
No, no, no... Of the tv shows that doesn't exist.

Not of the movie.

Brandon Lee's grave is right next to his dad's not too far from my apartment. (A bit of a walk, but not too bad.)

OH! Mark DeCoscos (Or something like that)

He's done a bunch of decent movies, actually.

From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
Yeah. However you spell that. He's also done some really bad movies.

I'm just very fond of Brotherhood of the Wolf.

And the X-Files has been off the air for a couple years. The movie was a nice way to wrap things up and bring it to an end, though.
