I have a thoery. I bought a pocket knife yesterday since I felt the need for one. (There was a big sale on First Aid equipment at the health fair outside my building and they had some nice knives.)

There are two things I like to carry with me at all times. (Other than like my keys and wallent and all of that estiantial stuff.) A trusty knife and a lighter. Now every gamer I've mentioned the lighter to has nodded and gone, "Yeah. I get that." All of the non-gamers ask, "You don't smoke do you?" or "Why would you need a lighter?" I answer with, "You never know when you might need fire." They all stare at me for a few moments.

Does this indicate anything or is it just a quirk?

I think that it indicates that when we all get thrown back to the dark ages, the only people who'll survive will be SCA'ers and gamers.

I don't consider it a quirk, it makes perfect sense to me (and I'm not a Gamer). I also carry a lighter with me and I don't smoke. It comes in handy when you have to light things on fire for various reasons.

I usually carry around matches myself. I can't stand lighters, but it's good to be able to make a flame if you need it.

It's either a 1-point quirk or a 5-point disadvantage :-). I always thought Pyromania should be worth more points than that, lol.

That's good :-). I used to always have a couple candles in my bag (wrapped up in my towel, of course). It's amazing how often they come in handy!
