Not right in any way, but it is very interesting from a cultural point of view.

I dunno...while it's morally ambiguous I think it's pretty damn justified. She was 13 when it started. That's rape. You can't possibly understand sex or your body at 13...particularly in a culture that has no sex education. She may not have even started menstruating yet. So, she was raped and beaten on a regular basis from the age of 13.

It's also a very extreme situation. There really didn't sound like there was any other way out for her, except perhaps suicide. So, it boils down to self preservation.

Honestly, I don't even think it's morally ambguous. Sounds like self defense to me. She can't run away, she can't take legal action, just about anything she could try to do would lead to her death...I'm curious as to how it's not right in any way.

Let me try this again...

Killing someone is wrong. That doesn't mean that I can't think of times I would kill someone, because I can think of a few. That doesn't mean I can't think of justifications for it. I just think that no matter what killing is someone is wrong. I don't know if that would make sense to anyone outside of my head.

Nope, it makes perfect sense. Just because something is justified logically doesn't necessarily mean it's morally ok.

I gotcha :)
