Keepin' yah updated on the state of me...
Aug. 28th, 2006 11:29 amWhat I'm reading - Spartan Women by Sarah B. Pomeroy - Making me want to read a hell of a lot more Xenophon. I had something of a crush on him before but he's one of her biggest sources, along with plutarch and Cicero. (Yes, I know it is strange to have a crush on someone two millenia dead. Hush.) There is a lot of interesting material here.
What I'm listening to - Not a lot. Does anyone have any recommendations for new CDs I should pick up? I haven't bought a CD in ages. Any bands I should try? My tastes are eclectic. That said, I've been listening to a lot of Queen and The Beatles recently.
What I'm doing this weekend - Going to Vancouver. HA HA HA! *ahem* I'm going up on Friday and coming back down on Monday. Spending some time with
angrylemur. All of you are totally jealous, I know.
What I'm looking forward to - Said trip to Vancouver. The Prestige. Playing D&D again on the 9th. Seeing my sister's wedding photos.
What's bugging me - Do you have friends that you feel you start all of the conversations with? That you always have to track down? That you generally feel make less effort to keep up with you and all of that than you do of them? (I know I'm probably this person to some people. Ugh.) I want someone to visit me. Not that I don't like travelling to see people and all but someone should visit me for once. (Okay, okay. I'll stop pouting.)
Ummmmmm. I think that's it. Time to take my meds. Wheeeee.
