Ugh.

I woke up feeling okay.

Then I realized it was 4 in the morning and I had woken up to cough. I went back to sleep relatively easily, all things considered. I woke up again when my alarm went off and strangely went back to sleep. I got up, coughed up a lung and tried to call my lead.

I then noticed that my voice has become an very undignified, breathy squeak.

"Hey, I'm not coming in today."
"Yeah..."
"I think you can tell why, too."
"Yeah. Take care of yourself."

So, I'm at home today. I have that horrible sick taste in the back of my throat. I don't have any meds to take for this sort of illness. I normally get sinus things. So if anyone has cough or throat hurting stuff, I'll take it, gladly.

I'm going back to work tomorrow because we have an-all company wide meeting that I don't want to miss. Today will be mostly sleep, I hope.

Today is Ash Wednesday.

What are you giving up for Lent?

I'm not Catholic or any other tradition that follows it, but I've typically made the promise of giving up sex for Lent. Of course, I wasn't normally having any, anyway.

I think I'll give up processed sugar for Lent this year.

I would have to say no.

I wasn't crackling when I breathed before the nap. I should make myself some lunch but the idea is somewhat daunting.

I wish I had magic. I'd just want one spell. It would make me excellent chicken soup.
