Thank you Marci and Bjorn for making me look up soon to be published books!!!!

Robert Jordan book 10, Crossroads of Twilight, on November 12th.

I know, I know, those of you who don't like it don't have to say anything. I, however, am still an addict and will likely remain one. Book 9 was pretty damned good. I am still upset about the lameness of 7 and 8, but... Eh.

Matt is obviously on the cover. Not sure about anyone else.

Its one of those series that I hate to like. But I read them anyway, just hafta slog through the dumb parts to get to the parts that I *really* like.

Hey! Not unlike Star Wars...

There are a lot of things like that. For me it isn't important to pick it apart or wonder why I like them. I just do like them. That's all that is important. I like it and it makes me happy. It makes me jump up and down sometimes.

My only problem is a combination of their length and how long it takes for each book to come out. By the time two years pass and the next one comes out, I forget what happened 12,000 pages earlier. Ergo, I have decided to wait for the series to be DONE, and then I can read it.

*laughs* I just go on-line and read the summaries if I really need to refresh my memory. I remember just fine what happened in 7, 8 and 9, so 10 isn't a big deal. If he references something I don't remember, I just look it up in the internet.

Really tall Myrdraal? Could you be a little more specific?

He lives in that mountain and showed up at about the same time as the twins named after knives? I don't really remember the details.

*ponders*

I think I know who you're talking about, but I'm not sure. The one that completley ends up owning Mohgedien. He's evil. Just icky. And much more than a Myrdraal.

Yes, that's the one. A friend and I used to do a bit of tabletop based on the Wheel of Time, and that horrible thing killed me as I was leaving a Stedding, but my friend didn't really know what to do with him so he just ended up a cross between a myrddraal and Superman.

Oh, and is the game at 8pm our time or 5pm?

5pm our time. I should be home close to that time.

I actually have the Wheel of Time RPG book if you want to look at it. It's well done.

As for that guy, I'm still not sure exactly what he is, but he's really, really wrong.

The main problem I have with Jordan is he's following far too many plotlines and characters. Characters like Egainen (or however it's spelled) bring nothing to the novel - they're just there to take up space that would be better devoted to one of the Big 3 characters (Matt, Rand, and Perrin). Oh, that and the quality of the books has declined since the original 3. Book 9 was better, but books 7 and 8 were downright TERRIBLE.

Still, the Wheel of Time keeps turning... and turning... and turning... and turning... and turning...

If you want some great fantasy, check out George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. The first book is called A Game of Thrones. Excellent stuff.

You've rcommended it to me like seven times. One day I will sit down and make myself get past the first five chapters, as I haven't been able to do it thus far.

I want Jordan to stick to the main three characters, however, what Egwene is doing is importnat. I could do with much less of what the random people are doing. You could cover it in a much better way than he has been, if we really must know what's happening.
