So at the begining of the week we're told, "We'll try it without OT this week and see how things go, alright?" So, along comes Thursday and we're offered over time.

Not only are we offered overtime, but we're offered more than we ever have been before. 15 hours. I think we're a little behind.

Before taxes, 15.75 an hour.

I am entirely burned out on OT, honestly. I need the money, but there is only so long I can stay here. Getting home after 7:00 doesn't really appeal.

WOW. OT is good, tho. Money is good. I would take the getting home late a few nights a week for the almost 16 bucks an hour. As it is, driving, I get home at almost 7pm most nights...

It is good. I agree with you. I've been doing over time for almost three months straight though. It gets really old.

Very true, but I can only do this job so long before I want to start screaming at people who call me up with stupid questions. I'm going to do some OT today and probably next weeks as well, but that's because I've taken some time out from it.

Hey, I'll come and moonlight there for some OT pay. I deal with 130+ stupid people a week, every week. And each one has stupid questions.

*nods* It normally doesn't get to me but everyone in awhile I have to talk with someone who just doesn't seem to understand anything I say.

The condesending ones might be worse.

Secret to dealing with the condescending ones - learn more about their business than they expect you to know. Then, whip out your knowledge every now and then on them, and keep em off guard.

Works for me - I get a new customer, they don't expect me to know anything, and then I chit chat with em a bit, talk about the current state of the industry, talk about various movers & shakers in the industry, and they all of a sudden realize that they have at least an equal on the other end...

Heh. Silly retailers.

Yeah, I do that anyway. I just get a lot of stupid questions about the company I work for. Things I can't really answer and there are a lot of them. I wonder how all of these people get our number.

It's always "well, for those types of questions, please call X" It's better in the long run to re-direct them to where they need to go and not give them any answers at all.

Most of these are questions no one here is going to answer. They are annoying questions.

"I heard you guys were going bankrupt, is that true?"
"How much longer do you think you guys will be in business?"

*grumble*
