Remembering..
May. 31st, 2002 09:57 amI've remembered today how much I love Live.
I'm also remembering the trip to New Orleans thanks to Jamie raving about his all the time.
I guess Holly and I screamed "goth/fetish/gamer/bondage queen" when we were down there as people were always coming up to us and telling us these places we had to go to be with, as one guy put it, "other people like you". The Prince of the City's largest LARP (or so he claimed) cornerd me at a concert and extended an invitation. People walked up to us on the street and told us to go to this one bar... The Crystal? I don't remember. It's in Poppy Z Brite books. (The story goes that Trent Reznor and Robert Smith ran into each other and had drinks. Some even goes so far as to say they had one of those, "You inspired me.." "No, you inspired *me* to keep on going" conversations.)
There were these fetish places that were tucked away in odd places, but the city is full of places that are tucked away in odd corners and the French Quarter teems sex and alcohol. It was a bad place to go without someone to come home to at night. There was enough of it that I've decided that if I ever have a honeymoon, I want to have it there. The Garden District is almost like an entirely different city. I liked walking around and finding houses. And Downtown was yet again different with all of the litter everywhere.... And Holly's boyfriend down there. Heh. Can't forget him. *laugh*
Hey, Holly, you rmemember that guy's name? Damn, that was a freakish adventure.
Mmmmmmm. I want to go back.

But Malky says so, and he visited a lot while he was stationed nearby. He'd know. If we or you or I ever go back there, THE CAFE DU MONDE IS NOT OPTIONAL. I want a fuckin' beignet.
