The whole episode was worth this for me. Talk about owning the hell out of a song and making it your own.

Yeah, that article is a pretty good summary. I'd seen a lot of articles, so was expecting an abomination and was quite pleasantly surprised. A fun story involving Mr. Schu's fantastically stupid and selfish plan to bring Rocky to a High School.

I wouldn't have minded a bit more story on Mercedes' adaptation, but I was happy with it.

You know, I would love this show to death if there were less Mr Schu and Rachel. As it is I still like it but man, those two just make me want to claw at something.

Yeah, 2nd season does seem to involve a conscious effort of owning the audience's reactions to 1st season characters.
* Repeated emphasis that Rachel is a Horrible Person who everybody wants to Punch in the Face, and is only tolerated for her voice.
* Emphasis on the idea that Mr. Schu is putting these kids through the wringer for his own selfish reasons.
* Finn seems to be running up against the limits of his intelligence and insight on a regular basis, where in Season 1 his peculiar limits where mostly contained to the pregnancy story arc.

Yeah. This season is much better about these things.

Finn, at least, is a nice guy. He's something of a moron about things but he's a nice guy, for the most part.

I like new guy.

I like the challenging of commonly held beliefs: Kurt and Finn's conversation - "Had I done what you did to a girl...", guys feeling body image pressure too and a few others.
