First of all, our stock is almost at 19. Wow.

Next, Sony is lowering the prioce of Playstations and PS2s. Playstations will be $49 and PS2s will be $199.

So. Sweet.

Gonna. Get. One.

The XBox is cutting their prices, soon, too.

I may be able (eventually) to get both.

... but that's a long way off ...

I've got enough friends who work for Micro$oft that I can get the games cheap for the XBox.

And there are some damn good football games out for XBox.

I have a weakness for football games.

Mmmmm. Can see that.

I just want a PS2. I want FFX and GTA3.

... and wrestling games.

WWF RAW on XBox looks to be the best wrestling game ever.

Fighting games are fun for a short time.

I love strategy games -- but I'd rather do Real-Time Strategy on my PC, and no-one does turn-based for the console systems (Final Fantasy Tactics was a notable exception -- the Warhammer game sucked)

I occasionally enjoy cart racers, but am not big on racing games.

I used to enjoy the RPG's, but have grown disillusioned with their linear nature.

There have been a few surprises -- Suikoden was a big surprise to me, as was Star Ocean. But those were both PS1 -- If I can find 'em, I'll loan 'em to you, if you're interested. Kartia was fun for a bit, but quickly lost its thrill.

NFL Fever for the XBOX is awesome (of course I'm biased because I tested it)

Also, the basketball game (I only know it by the codename) is really cool, not to mention Halo and Rally. There was a cool ship party for Gotham Racing but I haven't played it.

Haw.

I don't like basketball games usually.

Halo didn't interest me. I saw too many reviewers with similar tastes to mine that disliked it, "It's like the same level over and over only with more bad guys every time."

Is Gotham Racing a Batman Racing Game? If so, I'm all over it. There was a pretty good looking Batman game coming out for PS2 or XBox, too ... can't remember which.

I plan to get a PS2 first because I have a bunch of PS1 games.

But this is all at least six months away.

I wish it were a Batman racing game. That would be fun.

It would so totally rock.

The only racing games I truly love are the combat racing games.

Batman Racing would have to be a combat racer.

I also like space fighter sims.

There is a Batman racing game, you realize....

I've seen it around. Gotham Racing or something like that. Looks vaguely based on the cartoon series vision of Gotham. For the PS1, as I recall.

Huh. I hadn't thought that was actually a Batman racing game from what I'd seen of it. Maybe because I was looking for the wrong things.

Wheeeee.

I love Final Fantasy games, except for Tactics. I love Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger.

Suikoden was lots of fun. Did you try the sequel at all? I haven't seen it around in a long time, or I'd have picked it up by now.

Cart racers? [perks up] Did I hear the words cart racers? Any good ones for the PS?

I love non-combat racing games. That's actually why I like SSX Tricky.

[livejournal.com profile] apestyle paid $199 for a PS2 with a game (not sure which one- the one where you drive people around the city do errands for the mob boss) and a DVD remote. His was refurbished but it was still a rockin deal. That was a couple months ago tho, not sure if that deals still around.

Have they? Alas.

I had heard rumors they were thinking of it. I think I will not buy a gamecube and just play the older games they have wonderfully provided on the PS2.

Squaresoft is doing a game for the Gamecube, but there are no announced plans (last I saw) for them to do ONLY Gamecube titles.

ALso, when is this supposed price cut???????
HMMMMM?????

Mike want PS2.

Right now.

"NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Sony has launched a price war in the video game industry, reducing the price of its PlayStation 2 by one-third to $199 effective immediately. The company also cut the price of its PS1 console, the original PlayStation, from $99 to $49.

The PS2 price cut pre-empts an expected similar announcement by Microsoft early next week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the annual trade show of the gaming industry. Nintendo yesterday told CNN/Money it has no plans to lower the price of its Gamecube console and join the price war."

I might just get one. When EA released World Cup '02 for the PS1, not just the PS2, they won my heart forever.

Before the '98 World Cup, somebody ran a sim of all the games to see who won. (I don't remember who won the sim, but it wasn't France.) I wanna do such a thing of '02, and it wouldn't surprise me if that's built in to the software.
