Glee isn't for everyone, I know it. If you've ever had a liking for a) Madonna, b) cheerleader routines or c) marching bands, I'd watch last night's episode. There was some pretty good stuff in there. That and Santana and Brittany are awesome.

Rumor is there will be word on Batman 3 around July. If it is July, SDCC would make sense, though they did announce The Dark Knight /after/ SDCC originally. Oh and they're already saying no 3D, not a chance 3D.

Leonard Nimoy says that once his Fringe work is done he's retiring from acting.

Word is that Avatar 2 is going to explore the oceans. I'm so thrilled. Really.

Showbiz 411's Roger Friedman reports he talked to director Barry Sonnenfeld, who revealed that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are returning as agents J and K, respectively, in Sony's Men in Black 3D. Hrmmmm. Interesting....

Columbia Pictures has hired "United States of Tara" writer Sheila Callaghan to pen a new draft of the screenplay for the feature I Dream of Jeannie. Hoooray?

Re: no Batman 3 in 3D, I assume that's Chris Nolan's way of making sure people know He Makes Serious Films, but I don't know. I'd love to hear some firm word on it before Christian's career goes the way of the dodo. I mean, I suspect he'll always find work, but I'd like that to be in accessible movies. I can't live on Rescue Dawn, you know. :)

Is there anything Hollywood won't try to make into a movie?

They pretty much feel, at least the cinematographer Nolan always works with, feels that 3D is a gimick and they don't any to use it - that they can make beautiful movies without it. I generally agree with them. 3D is so rarely used well and so often used for "Oooo look at this thing is flying toward you oooooo". I'm pretty positive there will be word on the movie post-Inception press junkets.

I'm guessing no. Look at the upcoming Real Steel, for example.

We caught about half the Madonna Glee. We'd never seen Glee before. I am bewildered at the idea that this is a show aimed at tweens. o.O

It is supposed to be? I'd never gotten that impression, personally. And, well, that episode was much more blatant than they've been up until now.

Generally shows with (nominal) teenagers singing and dancing are aimed at tweeny or early teen audiences, but boy, that really didn't hit me as appropriate. I mean, it's possible they're aiming at an adult or full-on-teenager audience, I don't know. I'd just assumed because of what I knew from the content that it was basically aimed at 9-12 year olds, in much the same way High School Musical was.

Huh. Well, having watched it from the begining if it is being marketed that way anywhere, they're certainly not marketing to the approriate audience at all. The show is probably (at a minimum) high school and older. Considering almost all of the musical choices have been from our generation or the one after, I think it is meant for older.

Well, I'm glad to hear that's not the audience they're marketing to, because it would be inappropriate! :)
