So, at ECCC, I got a Wonder Woman statue that I'd been looking at getting for a long, long time. And when I get my comics chest, some time in the future, hopefully less than a year afer I ordered it (which would be PAX), I'll have the Women of the DC Universe poster (signed by Mr. Hughes) above it. And below it, I'll have the statue.

And then I thought, well, y'know, I could get the statues of the people who are in the picture... And I sort of committed myself to this idea.

Yeah. Well. There are 11 lovely ladies in the picture. And as of Saturday, 7 of those 11 had statues either out or coming out. On Saturday I pointed out, "Well, there likely won't be an Oracle statue. It'd have to be Batgirl."

I shouldn't have said anything.

This was solicited today.

I think I'll start making comments about there being a Batwoman statue because I would like Kate Kane on my shelf, please.

Again, this appears to be another situation where the drawing is comical and makes me want to chuckle but the statue makes me a little frowny. Some level of humor is lost in transition, I think. It is like violence levels between movies and comics - they live in (sometimes very) different places for me. But that's another post some other time.

As soon as I get a job, the first thing I'm getting (beyond a Disney annual pass) is that Batwoman bust that came out a few years back.

An Oracle statue and a Batwoman statue would rock.

As would a Steph-as-Batgirl statue.

Why does she look so shocked that she has a zipline in her hand? Really? What? I don't get it :/

In the picture, she's untangling it to find that there is an actual bat on the end of it, which funny, especially since the bat has these big googly eyes on it. (You can mostly see it in the background). The translation to statue makes her look more confused that the line is tangled at all and gives a bit of a different impression.

That would explain it.

Like the AH! Rogue they did. I *adored* the drawing, where Rogue looks like a dangerous charming flirt, but the statue looks like she's a madman of the third degree. And so I didn't buy it, because one was cute and the other was, like, SCARY.

Yeah. I don't know why that happens. I think in this case, as I mentioned above, there is an actual bat with googly eyes on it at the end of the line. Which is, y'know, cause for bewliderment and confusion.

Her line being tangled would not be so.

I still have the older one they did of Diana where she is on the pile of skulls with the shield and spears. I should do something with that at some point I think.
