Captain Kirk is going to be Jack Ryan! Interesting. It seems they're going to be remaking 'The Sum of All Fears".

Bill Murray says that he is interested in Ghostbusters 3 but he's not doing anything until he likes the script.

It seems that Mr. Favreau is not directing The Avengers.

Variety says that Universal Pictures have acquired the screen rights to "Frenemy of the State," a graphic novel miniseries.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, John Landis has announced that David Tennant will join Simon Pegg in Burke and Hare. This is the story of a duo who supplied a British medical school with cadavers they either harvested from graves or murdered themselves. This is going to be freaking FANTASTIC.

Variety says that Paramount has acquired an untitled feature pitch (for $2 MILLION) from screenwriters Aline Brosh McKenna and Simon Kinberg. J.J. Abrams will produce with Bryan Burk through Bad Robot. The last time something like this went down, we ended up with Cloverfield.

MTV chatted with Sam Raimi about the WoW movie. It sounds like he's chanting the usual mantra that he'll be "faithful to the game" whatever that means for a movie, since I have no idea how you'd even do that.

*raises hand* I saw X3 once. Reluctantly. And will not buy it on DVD. OTOH, I do have at least one bizarre friend who thought it was the best of the three. :)

The V poster looks pretty cool, although I don't know that I'd have ever guessed that was the same actress as from Firefly. She looks kind of like Winona Ryder.

By 'staying true to the game', I assume he means to the lore. The story in Warcraft is very deep. Extremely corny in places, which I assume they'd steer clear of in a movie, but still deep overall. Most people may skim over it when they play, but for those of us who actually read quest descriptions, watch the cycling NPC interactions in some places, and so on, there's a lot of story detail there. And if they don't stay true to that detail in the movie, there'll be a lot of upset fans.

And here I was thinking it meant he'd be making a movie about waiting for two hours while all your guildmates finish dinner, bio breaks, fighting with their spouses, and smack talking so that you can all finish the raid before four in the morning.
