Beep bop bop
Sep. 22nd, 2009 08:47 pmWhy, oh why, has no one capped Norman Osborn yet? I'm not saying that he needs to be killed but this guy is a loon. There is no way he should be able to hold his crap together this long. I would be tired of Norman rules the world by now if he were a better character (Doom or Lex Luthor) but he's a CRAZY BASTARD. Why is anyone listening to him? Why hasn't he just gone off the deepend by now? Why hasn't Thor or Namor just thrown him to the moon? it really feels like someone took what was meant to be an intimate plot (because, of course Spidey will take him down) and made it universe spanning and I really just no longer care at all. Maybe I'll come back after this is all over.
Keanu Reeves mentioned that the script for Bebop is getting a rewrite because as it was, it was fantastic but it would have been too expensive to make.
Summit Entertainment is going to re-imagine Highlander. Fast & Furious director Justin Lin and producer Neal H. Moritz are on board along with Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. So, we're at least going for the right vein of cheese... Any thoughts on a new Connor MacLeod?
It seems that the Kirby estate is suing for control of all of the characters Jack Kirby created. If you don't know much about comics, let me make a short list of characters that you might have heard of that this would touch: Captain America, The Fantastic Four, Darkseid, Black Panther, several X-men, Mister Miracle and the Bronze Age Sandman.
Warner Bros. is hiring Kieran and Michele Mulroney to write a "Sherlock Holmes" sequel. Yeah, that movie doesn't open until Christmas Day so they must feel good about it. Rumors are running hot and heavy that they're pitching it to Brad Pitt to play Moriarity. That might just be too much for me.
There have been a lot of rumors about X-movies. Lauren Schuler Donner says she wants X-men 4 and a New Mutants movie as well as X-men First Class (though that seems to have gone off the rails). Who knows at this point, really. I'm sure Fox will be chruning out as many of them as possible so they can hold on to the rights.
Diablo Cody is going to make a Sweet Valley High movie. Ummmmm. okay.
Heather Locklear will be reprising her role as Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place.
Dylan Walsh, John Malkovich and Scott Glenn will star with Diane Lane in Secretariat, about the horse of the same name.
Variety reports that Archie Comics Publications has signed with CAA. This pretty much just means that we'll be getting TV and movies in that world again - maybe.
Glee has been picked up for the full season by Fox.
Henry Rollins is going to voice Robotman in Batman: Brave and the Bold, though there is no date for the second season to start showing just yet.
Christopher Plummer and Brad Dourif have joined the cast of Priest. Paul Bettany is leading that one still.
There are some casting calls for the Green Lantern movie. There isn't anything in them that is surprising - Carol Ferris, Abin Sur and Sinestro.
And... well... anything else, I'm letting it slide. I'm tired of combing through days old news at this point.

Date: 2009-09-23 05:15 am (UTC)Besides it feels like a massive retread of President Luthor, except Luthor at least had his Silver/Bronze Age criminal records retconned away in Man of Steel so he was more plausible.

Date: 2009-09-23 06:37 am (UTC)I'm all asquee about the Melrose Place news, though. :D I just wonder how/if they're gonna reconcile it with the original series ending, since here it looks like Amanda's the head honcho of the company where Ella works/Amanda's own old company, I think. Hrmm....
