Pirates of the Caribbean 4 has been officially announced at the big Disney convention going on right now. It is called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It is currently slotted in for summer of 2011.

Also coming out of D23 is a Prince of Persia trailer and more positive spin on the Sorceror's Apprentice live action movie. Tim Burton confirmed that after Alice his next project will be a full movie length feature of Frankenweenie also aiming for a 2011 release date.

Another Disney announcement is that the upcoming Muppet film (written by Jason Segel) will be titled The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made. Heh.

Splash Page says that there may well be more Whiteout coming, pending the movie does well at the box office.

Julian Sands will be playing Jor-El on Smallville. I'm... well, they're doing their damnedest to make me give this show another shot, aren't they?

The Coens are remaking True Grit and Jeff Bridges has signed on for it.

Timothy Dalton will voice a thespian hedgehog toy named Mr. Pricklepants in Toy Story 3.

Cameron Stewart will be takig over art on Batman and Robin after Philip Tan leaves. I have to say I liked his work on Catwoman very much.
