Things I'm thinking about

- The gym. Yep. Tonight's the big going back night. We'll see how this goes.
- Sean's bachelor party. What the hell. I'm a 'Best Man', that means I get to throw parties and give speeches. I must think about this all some more, of course.
- My cousin Steven's wedding is at the Wynn. Sweet! I like that place. Need to arrange for the time off right now and I should seriously look at airfare.
- She-Ra, Wonder Woman, Ripley and Princess Leia and why they were my heroes when I was growing up. (All for different reasons.)
- Lady Shiva's reaction to Renee Montoya as the Question. No, I don't know why I'm thinking about this in the back of my brain but I think it was in my dreams.
- Eating habits and changes I'm going to attempt to make. So far not too bad but I need to solidify the ideas a bit more. Nothing spectacularily new here, just trying to put things together in a way I can accomplish.
- Entitlement of fans - Some people can be real bastards. Just because you don't like something someone created doesn't mean you get to tear down the person. Just because someone doesn't create fast enough, doesn't mean you should hate them personally. Just because they went a direction with their work you don't like, doesn't mean you get to yell at them. I know it isn't true across the board but most of the writers (comics and novels) and actors I've met have been nothing but nice people I'd love to be able to hang out with. They meet thousands and thousands of people a year in sometimes strange and awkward situations - something I'm sure would drive me nutty. I'm amazed any of them remember who they are after all of that, let alone anything else.
- The intesnse sense of deja vu I'm having /right now/. Woah. Maybe I suddenly know kung-fu.

Date: 2009-08-12 05:32 am (UTC)[trite]Revising your habits always makes for hard work, but it's impossible to make lasting changes without changing habits.[/trite]
[half-joking]If I was to write a book about the "Sean system", it would focus on this rule: each month, try to change one habit. A year is too long for resolutions, you spend two months trying, six months feeling like a failure, and then you forget about it until the holidays. Just try to change a habit once a month. If it works -- great! Each changed habit will have significant long-term results. If not, don't worry too much about it and try something completely different the next month. Sometime later, with at least a few months perspective, try a variation on the habit that didn't work for you, until you find a way to make it work.[/half-joking]

Date: 2009-08-12 05:35 am (UTC)*nods* It is a good thought. It is the isolation of the habits that I have the most issue with. They intertwine so much that cutting them apart to change is the challenge.
