... well, forever.

I'm not even there yet and it appears I have won a shirt! - http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/2008-12-6-motion-captured/posts/2009-7-5-the-morning-read-7-9-09 I've always liked Drew McWeeny's reviews and I like his new site and I like the shirt, so I'll be happy to wear it at the Con.

Also, I'm glad that the Stumptown shirt design turned out well: http://ruckawriter.livejournal.com/78150.html I'm hoping to be able to get one of those too because, well, it looks fun and I'd wear it more than once.

I still don't know what color Lantern shirt I want. Realistically, I know I'll get a black one because, well, have you seen my wardrobe? Other than that, I'm not sure.

Yes, I might well end up with more shirts from the show than there are days I'll be there but that's not uncommon. I usually come away with a few free ones. I think my record is four, though I only got one last year.

That brings me to the question - Anything anyone wants me to try to pick up for them? I have a few requests already but it is usually better to get them in one place.

Catie: MESSIAH COMPLEX and ULTIMATE X-MEN #1 (HC)
JR: Anti-Monitor points stuff
Kris: Katie Cook stuffs
Ian: Kyle Lantern shirt

It's a long shot, but if there's a GL shirt with the Kyle Rayner logo - as seen in my userpic for this response - would you snag it for me? It's easy to find the more conventional logo, but I've always preferred this version. XL or 2XL. Thanks!

Sure!

I haven't seen one in awhile but I'll look.

A suggestion, not a request:

Pick up one of the DCUO poster. Mike's seen the whole thing and said it's really good - you can see Batman reflected in her goggles. I thought you might like it. :)

It is, in fact, on my list of things to try to pick up.

Awesome. Let me see if I can find out who will be at the booth, maybe I can get them to hold one for you. No promises, but I'll ask.

Oh, and those lantern shirts annoy me because they didn't provide any women's shirts. Not even the VIOLET ones come in a girl cut. WTF, people?! I'm pretty damn sure men can't be violet lanterns!

I'd happily rock anything from green through violet if they came in a more flattering cut, but nooooooo. I am lanternless and sad. Meanwhile, Mike parades around in his black lantern t-shirt and Batman shoes. ;p

Wow, really? That would be so cool - even just the attempt. Thanks!

*laughs*

Well, it is better for me that they aren't girl shirts as I don't look good in baby-doll t-shirts if they even make them in a large enough size to fit me.

Wow, those are cool! I want Joker shoes!

Okay, here's what I found out. There are two ways to get the poster, and they're going to have Jim there signing them, too.

Either you can wait at the booth at specific times and get a signed poster that way, OR you can hit that booth first thing as soon as you get there and tell them the special "secret code phrase". This gets you a pass to a party that SOE is throwing, which lets you not only get the signed poster but a chance to hang out and mingle with DC and DCUO peoples. There's a limited number of passes for the party, so you'd want to get down there right away to snag one. Ready for the secret phrase?

"I am dcuo's bff."

Yeah, it's stupid.

Mike says if all else fails, he can get you a poster after the fact, if for some reason you can't pick one up at the Con.

You are my bestest friend ever.

My mission for this SDCC was to meet Jim Lee. So. That... would.. Wow.

Well, I'll see about being there on Wednesday.

Ah, then you know where to go now!

I wish I'd known you had a burning desire to meet him. He used to stop by the Sigil offices all the time, and he's at the SOE Austin studio quite a bit since he's the art director for DCUO. He's really nice. :)

He's Jim Lee. I mean... The first comic I bought for myself was his art.

Wheeeeeee!

Okay, you're right, I should have known. ;)

Well, all I can say is don't be nervous. He's very nice, and very down to Earth, and he's a gamer. That's why he used to stop by the Sigil offices - he was an EverQuest fan. :D

That's awesome. Most of the comics people I've met have been brilliantly nice people and people I would want to get to know much more. People I count myself lucky to know, even in the limited context I do.

So, I would be honored to meet him. My first stop on Wednesday will be the DCUO booth to see if I can get the hook up.

Buy the shirts you want, then mod them into a more flattering cut. I have a friend who did just that with ribbon, and it came out amazing.

Awww. Muy el saddo.

Granted, more often than not, I'm dressed in black, so...lol.

But only if he's cut his hair! He does not rock the the longer hair. Much better with it buzzed, oddly enough.

:D <3!

ALL OF THEM.

Dude, I wouldn't wear all of them and that would be pricey.

Yes, I don't like to think about how much I spent on those shirts....

How do you look in orange?

Date: 2009-07-14 11:06 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lithera.livejournal.com
Orange is /not/ my color but I know someone who loves it...

Date: 2009-07-14 11:08 pm (UTC)

Okay, there has to be a non-black color you can wear!

I want to see them in person first. If the blue one isn't baby blue...

Then that will certainly be a possibility.
