Quick! Go! No, wait....
Jul. 6th, 2009 11:52 amTonight BBC1 shows the first of the new five-part Torchwood TV series, Children of Earth, a new episode at 9pm each week. BBCA will be showing them later this month.
Variety says there is a TJ Hooker movie in the works. Hooray?
Brandon Routh is letting it be known that his Superman contract has expired but he'd really like to play Superman again. Y'know. If anyone might... be interested? Hellllooooo?
Contact Music is reporting that Hayden Panettiere, or Claire on Heroes, is “preparing for girl-on-girl love scenes in the next series of HEROES.” In this case 'love scenes' involves a kiss and pretty much just a kiss but it seems that is fans like it, it could go further than that. Really? Are we really still in a place where two girls kissing on TV is THAT big of a deal? Ugh. This feels exploitative to me. CUT IT OUT!
Universal has won a four studio bidding war to pick up the film rights to the classic Atari video game ‘Asteroids.’ 'Asteroids'? Really? A four studio contest? Bwah?
Along similar lines, Warner Bros. has picked up most of Midway Games' assets in bankruptcy court doe $33 million. Some of the rights includ "Mortal Kombat," "Spy Hunter" and "Joust." (Again, Joust?)
Check this out:
Hilarious.

Date: 2009-07-06 07:30 pm (UTC)According to IMDB, there's another Mortal Kombat movie in casting by Threshold Entertainment. Wonder if buying the rights to it was some play by WB to get money out of that. Spy Hunter would probably make a good movie, but can't say how Joust would work at all.

But seriously, they should translate the Ultima games to film. That would be badass.
